In my most recent article for the St Andrews Economist Business Section, I analyzed the lack of transparency in the AI ecosystem in relation to the Foundation Model Transparency Index conceived by Stanford Researchers. I thoroughly enjoyed researching and learning about the importance of transparent and explainable AI within the realm of business. Make sure to give it a read: https://lnkd.in/eGK_jhrV

Great read on why implementing RAG and vector similarity search alone won't solve generative AI's hallucination problem. The article highlights the need for effective prompts, efficient indexing of massive datasets and improving search through better document representations. It's clear that we need to go beyond just keywords to truly solve this issue. Check out the article for more insights! #AI #GenerativeAI #RAG #VectorSimilarity #SearchImprovement #EfficientIndexing

Finally managed to finish reading the comprehensive 502-page AI Index Report; a thorough review of the current state of AI developments by Stanford University's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. The report offers valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence, shedding light on its current capabilities, challenges, and potential future trajectories. Whilst this report serves as an excellent resource for those interested in delving deep into the latest advancements in AI, I appreciate that its length may deter some from fully exploring its contents. As such, Risk managers may want to focus primarily on Chapter 3: Responsible AI (only 54 pages). For those seeking an even more concise overview, I highly recommend checking out this summary - State of AI in 13 Charts - which provides a snapshot of the key findings and trends highlighted in the report. #ai #artificialintelligence #riskmanagement https://lnkd.in/exug6vyb

Prab Bajwa - thanks for sharing - this is a very interesting summary, and reinforces my view that industry is way ahead of academia and regulators in driving forward to reap the AI benefits sooner rather than later. Regulators, in particular, will need to resource up and become "part of the solution" to ensure some balanced guard-rails. After the proverbial horse has truly bolted may just be too late... Moot point: maybe it already has? #ai #aiindex #stanforduniversity #usaleadingtheway
