This author suggests that we’re living in a rare period in history where six generations are working together, from the octogenarians of the Silent Generation who are still in leadership roles to the teens of Generation Alpha, who are entering internships. A health system the size of ours at UVA Health is certainly one of those environments where diverse and intergenerational work is the norm–a “6G organization.” Here are suggestions for ways that we can rethink and celebrate generational differences on our teams: https://bit.ly/49y02pO

Work Futurist: Consultant | Learning & Development | Generative AI | Talent Management | People & Culture | Board Advisor | Author | Speaker | Lecturer
“For the first time in history, many workplaces span six generations: from the octogenarians of the Silent Generation who are still working — and in many cases still holding onto key global leadership roles — to the teenagers of the emerging Generation Alpha who are eagerly pursuing their first summer jobs and high school internships. In between are the Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y (often called the Millennials), and Generation Z. Giving each generation — and, importantly, each individual — the opportunity to be seen, understood, valued, and leveraged in the workplace throughout the course of their career is essential for personal, social, and even societal well-being. “ https://lnkd.in/gkm7W5Nt #leadership #management #genz #workforce #wellbeing

🤝 Partnerships Manager | Social Impact Strategist | BIPOC Youth Mental Health Advocate | Gen Z Storyteller | Speaker & Facilitator (Prev. @ The White House & Comic-Con)
I spoke about research to current trends around what Gen Z'ers care about, engage in, and aspire to achieve in the workplace & beyond with the Taco Bell Foundation & CoLabL. I love hosting workshops for other Gen Z'ers, but I find it just as important to have voices like mine, Tiana Day, & Angela Richard, M.Ed. spotlighted in spaces like these. Ironically, in the best way, this was an example of something we all preached! 👏 THE IMPORTANCE OF INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE & CO-MENTORSHIP 👏 We also spoke about the value of engaging and including young people in the work being done to serve them! Not simply through internships but other opportunities that allow us to have agency and ownership of decision-making. A topic I'm diving head first into with Lionel Ramazzini and the team over at Hopelab. Major shoutout to Daniel Horgan for being an incredible facilitator and for summarizing my thoughts on youth engagement (I'll be using this just as you're using "speaking in draft" 😉): 💡 Focus on the 4 Cs – connection, curiosity, context, and co-creating. How are we building and managing connections that are less transactional and more relational? How are we balancing teaching and learning together plus finding the confidence/courage to ask questions and dig deeper to understand each other and the issues we are aiming to address. Are we taking time to share context including the why behind decisions, tasks, and goals? Are we ensuring that there are seats at the table for those impacted by decisions and strategy – inviting them to share perspectives and co-create solutions to challenges plus strategies for growth. Likewise, I'd love to hear YOUR 🫵🏽 thoughts of any of the above! #thoughtleader #genz #mentalhealth #intergenerational #workplaceculture

Helping Founders and Coaches to Scale Their Business With Personal Branding | LinkedIn Strategist | Instagram Strategist | Personal Branding Expert
Hey Folks !!! As we approach the final days of 2023, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been nothing short of a rollercoaster of unique experiences. Picture this: late in 2022, I landed a coveted full-time internship at an exceptional digital marketing agency. Little did I know that this opportunity would evolve into a full-fledged job by April 2023, marking the beginning of a transformative journey from student life to the realm of working professionals. Fast forward to May 2023, and I proudly walked across the stage at LPU's graduation ceremony. The job was a perfect fit – I reveled in the work, cherished the camaraderie with my amazing teammates, and soaked up a wealth of hard and soft skills. The best part? It was a remote gig, allowing me to spend quality time with my family. However, as the calendar pages turned and I approached my one-year work anniversary, a realization struck me like a bolt of lightning – a 9-to-5 job wouldn't satiate my long-term aspirations. In a bold move, I decided to bid farewell to the security of my job and venture into the world of self-employment. As I navigate through my notice period, the anticipation builds for the moment when, on the cusp of the new year, I will close the door on this chapter of my professional life and boldly step into the uncharted territories of entrepreneurship. Now, I turn to you, my friends, seeking your insights and opinions on this monumental decision. The "COMMENT" section below awaits your wisdom – share your thoughts and suggestions as I embark on this exciting new chapter. Here's to new beginnings and the thrill of the unknown! 🚀

Spring Weeks 🌳 📅 I’ll put my hands up I lacked in first year by not applying for spring weeks. However, I’ve gone around asking past interns, new grads and professionals for advice on how to make the most of your spring week coming up. 1. Research the company 🔬 – might sound obvious but just by truly understanding what the company does even at a basic level will allow to ask more insightful question and hold better conversation with senior employees. 2. Read the offer email multiple times 🔍 – ensure you don’t miss anything important like documents, start time, duration and location your based each day 3. Set goals 🥅 – determine what you want to achieve make these as measurable as possible 4. Prepare your elevator pitch 😀 – 1st impression really count especially when it comes to networking with professionals at the company 5. Be proactive 🌟 - Take initiative and engage with the activities and opportunities presented to you. Ask questions, participate in discussions and seek feedback. Like always like share and comment your thoughts or any personal question shoot me a DM let’s connect! Oh yeah 5 more tips coming on Wednesday.
