Web3 game design takes a multidisciplinary approach. Having worked extensively in this field, I've distilled the essence of a great game into a simple equation. 👾 = 🖼+🏦+💻+🧠+🏛+🎥+🛍 🖼 Arts Fine graphics create the first impression with captivating visuals and storytelling. Think of the stunning visuals in "God of War" or "Ragnarok." 🏦 Economics In-game economies mirror real life, with dynamics of scarcity, supply, and demand. That is why for CS skin prices vary from $100 to $20.000! 🤑 💻 Technology We went from 10 pixels people to huge hyperrealistic almost-open worlds in only 30 years of time span. AI generation tech, advanced programming, and software development are the backbone of sophisticated gaming platforms. 🧠 Psychology Average player flow on their way to complete tasks and quests is the key to designing compelling game incentives (now even more valuable with NFTs and tokens) and game mechanics. 🏛 Architecture Creating virtual worlds requires more than creativity. Buildings construction, mounts, vehicles, and pets - this is where logical design and creativity come together. 🎥 Video Production High-quality video rendering enhances the storytelling tenfold. Even with Final Fantasy III being a simple and pixeled game, immersive game trailers made it look gorgeous and won over our hearts back then. #IYKYK 🛍 Customer Behavior Insights into purchasing habits inform strategies for monetization and in-game marketplaces. One of MMORPGs I play (solely for work purposes!) rolls out character skin every month for $500 each, and players are buying it because they love the game experience. Now, to web3. Gamers, already familiar with virtual economies through decades of experience with in-game currencies and item trading since 90s, will find Web3 gaming to be a natural evolution. The impact of Web3 gaming is substantial. It's not just about fun, it's about pioneering a new frontier where tech, economy, and creativity intersect. 🛣 To the innovators crafting groundbreaking projects: your efforts are reshaping the landscape of digital interaction and commerce. Keep up the incredible work! 🥳 #web3 #socialfi #gaming #blockchain #gamefi

CEO DAVID BASZUCKI'S MISSION TO MAKE ROBLOX A BILLION-PLAYER PLATFORM The Code Conference wrapped up a few days back, and we’re bringing you the last of our interviews from the event. My friend and colleague, The Verge deputy editor Alex Heath, sat down to chat with Roblox CEO David Baszucki live onstage. Earlier this year, Roblox announced grand plans to build an audience of adults. You probably think of Roblox as a kid thing — we reported in 2020 that half of all US kids under 16 had played it — but the last time David and Alex chatted, the company had big plans to change all that, and Alex asked how all of that was going. 👾 Alex Heath Where does generative AI intersect with what Roblox does? 🦄 David Baszucki So AI generative is very interesting for avatars, for clothing, for 3D experiences to really bring creation to everyone, and we’re deep in on that. We’ve already shipped AI code generation to help creators create. We’ve shipped AI material generation. I think having a company with amazing... A lot of user data flowing can help support and train those types of models. 👾 Cathy Hackl During RDC, you gave one of your predictions. You said a top fashion designer will be discovered on Roblox without having any experience in physical fashion. What is the role of fashion in the future of Roblox and direct-to-avatar? 🦄 David Baszucki It’s huge, right? Karlie Kloss is on our platform. Parsons School of Design - The New School did a partnership with us. At RDC, we saw a couple of the gowns that had been done in concert with some of the students there. They were absolutely amazing. So one could imagine reducing the friction of creativity for a fashion designer to ultimately virtual design — and then, ultimately, AI-supported design. It’s interesting to imagine this as a prototype environment for fashion. You can try a lot of things more quickly than building the physical. You can get crowd feedback. There will someday be experiences where early designs are voted on. We’ve had things like that in a more simplistic way, and then you can imagine almost predicting what types of designs from top designers would be welcomed. So I think it’s really big. Thank you. read more: https://lnkd.in/gxpfWCYB #ai #ar #vr #metaverse #fashion #web3 #nft #defi #roblox

Community Manager for 80 Level (80.lv) | Full Stack Developer | Digital Marketing | User-Generated Content (UGC) | Ruby on Rails | JavaScript
Throwback to 2005 when my uncle showed me his first Adobe Flash website. I was 12 years old, started diving into HTML, and was amazed at the dynamic FX and animations on the internet before social media. Who else remembers those early days? Then, Apple killed it, making countless hours of studying of my uncle in vain. Shame on who did that, not because of him, but because we lost the beautiful dynamic internet. Until now. Thanks to the correctness of the universe, it seems like we're all done with the static pages, and the 3D immersion it's calling everyone for the whole new universe that we have in front of us. A universe made by 3D websites with interaction, immersion, and where you can feel good. That's why I'm so passionate about my job here at 80.lv. After playing as a DJ, websites are what I have done most in my life, by far, and being part of the revolution that is coming makes me look to that 13-year-old guy who was suffering from poverty and family issues and say: KEEP GOING, you'll have a great future! I'm mixing my personal life with the Metasites concept, I know, but that's just my view of things and I want to share it with you all. 18 years later and I'm here, helping 80 Level to shape the future of the internet - for a way better one. Big shoutout to all the creators that I've been talking to for the last months building the Community Metasites. We're preparing huge things to be launched soon, and I'm eager to onboard all 3D creators on this Metasites revolution. https://lnkd.in/dy7AUUKw
