How to promote your TV show? Turn your fans into one of the characters. This brilliant Snap Inc. filter by Prime Video & Amazon Studios really immerses their fans in the Fallout world. By augmenting them into the the suit and animating the helmet to reveal the fans face it gives a real personal touch. With these type of experiences it can be hard to be true to the assets while also showing the fans face or making it personal, so the subtle animation here is a nice touch. I haven't seen it yet, but I hope they tie this into some other interactive experiences and take the "Barbie" marketing approach of engaging through interaction. For this experience though, Snapchat is at the forefront of AR tech and it's exciting to see brands pushing the potential of what can be achieved creatively. One thing that stood out to me recently is the performance of Snap and how Snapchatters are engaging with the creator content. Snap Inc. reported its fastest revenue growth in over two years, with a 21% YoY increase in Q1. This growth was driven by advertising revenue. Snap's investments in AI/ML infrastructure have paid off, particularly in the Direct Response [DR] ad platform, which saw a 17% YoY increase in revenue. Snapchat is focusing on three key areas to enhance content engagement: 1. Improving content ranking and personalization through machine-learning models. 2. Growing and diversifying the creator community by supporting and rewarding creators. 3. Introducing new features to enhance content experience and user relationships. Snap is rolling out a new batch of advertising and marketing tools for beauty brands looking to connect more with key audiences on Snapchat... yet I wonder how long until this transfers into the Real Estate / Homebuying space? On Thursday, Snap revealed that it will soon launch developments like non-live beauty Lenses, makeup drops for Bitmoji, and an ad tool called "Total Takeover." It also revealed an upcoming partnership with NYX called the "Beauty Bestie" AR experience, as well as ways for brands to pull key search terms from "My AI" conversations for the purpose of targeted messaging. Snap views AR as having the potential to "revolutionize" the way people interact with the world, with each other, and with their favorite brands. What are your thoughts? Snap AR has struggled with advertising. I have long thought Snap was better thought of as a VR/AR company (yes, those Snapchat cat filters are AR!). Looking at Snap through an AI filter, its valuation today might look like a bargain for someone interested in acquiring Snap for this technology vs. for its current business...
