When you think of ethical consumerism, does it bring to mind handmade artisan-crafted wares like these lovely baskets? Or does it mean exercising an informed choice in what you buy, so that you help other communities or the planet or both? So what does "ethical leadership" make you think? Is it all self-righteous piety or is it about taking a responsible stance, to help a company thrive in balance with a happy workforce, customers and still minimise their impact on the world around them? Very impressive talk! For the issue of how companies should view their stakeholders, I love the idea that a company should answer "Who they are to me" instead of "How can they be useful to me". Values are mixed with methods. This is not a created moral mandate, but how things really work. Just as Ed Freeman frequently referred to human relationships, the more fundamental question for business is about "being" not "doing".

Sometimes just one kind gesture and remark is enough to elevate someone and sometimes one mean remark can diffuse the entire motivation one brings to work. Emotional Intelligence here comes as an aid #thinkitover #feedbackmethodmatters #ethics #team building #leadershipethics
