Happy Disability Pride Month! It’s truly a celebration and I love that our country takes the time to honor the advancements and contributions of individuals with disabilities, but it shouldn’t stop there. Support should be part of our everyday lives, all year round. I, along with others, get pulled in for the month of July, October, as well as December 3rd for awareness campaigns. It is my heart’s desire that our experiences and expertise are not limited to just awareness holidays. These are great launching pads, but making this a consistent and transcendent conversation that permeates everyday life should become a social norm. I strongly encourage and support everyone in taking the first step today, making a commitment to making our workplaces more inclusive. What are you doing this month to make a difference? Are you hosting inspiring events, joining impactful webinars, or committing to making your spaces more accessible? Maybe you’re launching new initiatives or engaging in service that changes policy or practices. Persons with disabilities are the largest marginalized community in the world, yet we are still fighting for equity & inclusion. It doesn’t have to be this way at all and you absolutely have the power to change that. Share your exciting plans and actions. People with disabilities are still hugely undervalued by society, but with technology becoming a tremendous leveller, there is no better time to start listening to their unique perspectives, and to start bringing more of these perspectives into our talent pools July is Disability pride month, and you may have noticed the stripes on my profile picture The colours represent: • Green for sensory disabilities. • Blue psychiatric disabilities. • White non-visible and undiagnosed disabilities. • Gold for neurodiversity. • Red represents physical disabilities. It's design is to prevent strobing on screen and muted and in order to assist those with visual impairment. Perhaps time for companies to consider updating their logos in July to show support for the most vulnerable in our societies #disabilitypride

We are proud to celebrate and recognize Disability Pride Month! It's a poignant reminder that valuing difference and leading with inclusion and belonging are principles that we all must reaffirm and remain committed to. And while the community in the United States has made much progress since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), there is more work to be done. Data from the Center for Research on Disability shows that "the labor force participation rate for people with disabilities sits at 32.8%; compared to 77.1% for those without disabilities." Our businesses, communities, and society cannot afford to lose on the talent, experience, and unique perspective that people with disabilities bring. Today, and everyday, we must ensure our workplaces are accessible and inclusive. We must ensure our workplace cultures lead with belonging so people with disabilities can show up to work as their authentic selves and thrive. For those asking how I can be an ally to the community, we strongly encourage you to follow your intellectual curiosity, seek knowledge, do your own research, and build empathy. A great place to start is by following organizations like Disability:IN which is leading the way in disability inclusion in the workplace. #BusinessOfBelonging

As we celebrate Disability Pride Month, I am filled with excitement and pride, not just for the incredible progress we've made but also for the vibrant, diverse community we continue to build. As a neurodiverse individual, living with autism and ADHD, this month holds a special place in my heart. Every day presents its own set of challenges.
