I just stumbled upon this thought-provoking article titled "Navigating Life in the Post-COVID Age" from The Cut and wanted to share it here. 📖 Article Link: https://lnkd.in/gTivDfxG In this piece, the author delves into the complexities of our world in the aftermath of the pandemic. They discuss the challenges and opportunities that have arisen as we move forward. 💡 It got me thinking about how resilient and adaptable we've all become during these trying times. As well as the further disconnect in the workplace between different generations. 🌟 I have seen many companies adapting their business model, not only moving to remote but supporting employees! Gorilla 76, and Proofpoint Marketing just to name a few, are great examples. From remote work to reevaluating our priorities, this article explores various aspects of life in the "new normal." It reflects on how we've grown, the lessons we've learned, and the changes we've experienced. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this article! 💬 Do you resonate with the author's insights? How has your life evolved in the post-COVID age? #PostCOVID #LifeAfterPandemic #Reflections #Adaptability #LinkedInCommunity

As 2023 draws to an end, I am starting look back back over the past year and look to the challenges and opportunities for 2024. Of course, the festive season is a time to relax and enjoy time with friends and family but it also gives a pause in the normal day-to-day activity, which enables you to reflect on the past, and consider the future. The next three weeks will be spent emptying inboxes, tidying up files. reflecting on the past and thinking about what I want to focus on over the next 12 months. I am not a great one for New Years resolutions, but a few carefully chosen objectives might be in order. Let the reflecting/thinking begin.

December is around the corner. We celebrated Spring Day in our part of the world last Friday, and I realised with shock that 2023 will soon be history. It is scary to think how much work still needs to be done before our December break. People start preparing for their holidays as soon as October arrives, if not physically, at least mentally. That is why we refer to the period leading up to Christmas as the silly season: people become silly. Priorities change, and work is often not one of those. December and January are quiet months, business-wise. The last thing any business can afford is for this period to start earlier and then stretch into February. The challenge is ensuring everyone remains motivated and focused on the goal - to keep the business running full-steam ahead. If you do it right, the momentum achieved can take the company through the quiet period. How do we do that? I have a few ideas, but I would love to get advice from my readers. ▪️ Stay motivated yourself. There is nothing that demotivates workers as much as a demotivated leader. ▪️ Have clear and distinct goals for the team to achieve before knocking off for the holidays. ▪️ Put additional effort into recognising excellence and complementing those who excel. Foster a culture of recognition in the enterprise. ▪️ Create a fun environment. Add some festive cheer to the workplace to prepare everyone for the holidays. Have a celebration where everyone participates and shares their achievements with their colleagues. Use the opportunity to prepare them for the post-holiday period mentally. Try to create anticipation instead of dread. ▪️ Don't overwork key staff - ensure that goals are achievable and create additional capacity to meet the overall objectives. #webb #DataVoice #motivation #CEO #strategy #communication

✅✅✅#FridayCEOTip – Catch-Up and Clean-Up Day! ✅✅✅If it's Friday, it's Friday CEO Tip Time! This week’s tip is time-based, as. The Friday before Labor Day! Many of us have utilized Fridays as an administrative day in our executive careers as much as possible. We catch up on emails and clean up our open items and commitments. Today, could you take it one step further? Close out your open items, make your “Prioritized To-Do List” for next Tuesday when you return to work, and consider unplugging for the holiday weekend if possible. Sign those checks, process those approvals, and clean up loose ends. If you are a #SaaS CEO, prepare for your #saastr2023 experience with Jason M. Lemkin and his team. Regardless of your company type, find your holiday weekend “Why” and prepare for a clean break! We are in the final four months of the calendar year, and please make sure that significant actions are in motion for each business function of your company and your priorities to prepare for 2024. This should be clear-cut. Here are the top 3 things to do today! 1. Create next week’s “Prioritized To-Do List.” 2. Clean-up: Delegate all items to your trusted leadership team with precise, unambiguous detail. 3. Unplug as soon as possible to enjoy family or personal time. Share your thoughts in the comments below, and let’s grow together. Enjoy your weekend, reflect, and see you next week! Good luck to all Founders, CEOs, and leaders. #CEOInsights #FridayCEOTipoftheWeek #HolidayWeekend #CEOMistakes #Unplug #beelinebill #Saastr

Quote of the Day: "Your passions should fit you exactly but your purpose in life should exceed you." - Kevin Kelly Who is Kevin Kelly? Kevin Kelly is a renowned writer, tech thinker, and the founding executive editor of "Wired" magazine. Over his 68-year career, he has become a pivotal figure in shaping cyberculture and has dedicated his life to fostering technological awareness and innovation. How does this quote relate to our industry? In the world of employee benefits, we often get caught up in the daily grind, checking off boxes and ensuring plans are configured, open enrollment runs smoothly, and cards are mailed on time. It's easy to forget the larger purpose behind our work. Here's why remembering our purpose is crucial, especially during busy times: It reminds us that we're making a difference. We directly impact the lives of countless individuals and families by ensuring they have access to the healthcare and benefits they need. It reignites our passion. When we remember the positive outcomes of our efforts, it reignites the passion that drives us to excel even in demanding situations. It fuels our resilience. Knowing we contribute to something bigger than ourselves helps us persevere through challenging times and navigate the inevitable craziness. Personal Story: As someone currently on a major medical journey with my son, I can personally attest to the immense value of well-designed benefits plans and dedicated support. From navigating complex contracts to ensuring systems work seamlessly, your efforts have alleviated significant stress during this challenging time. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to your purpose. Remember, even when things get hectic, your work makes a real difference in the lives of others. Let your passion shine through, no matter how demanding the season. #employeebenefits #purpose #passion #inspiration #healthcare #makeadifference

"The end of year can be stressful enough without the extra pressure that comes from last-minute requests due before New Year's Eve. With the right mindset and tools, we are able not only to survive but thrive in the face of the December deadline deluge." This week's BR Post share is relevant to all but particularly our Southern Hemisphere readers. In this part of the world, we not only shut down for the festive season, but a long summer holiday, so we easily fall prey to the pressure of the year end scramble. Read here about steps that enable us to garner as much control as possible over our own time and shut-down plans. - Anticipate and ask if you suspect a recurring request is heading your way - Commit to your Paid Time Off - Clarify what you're being asked to do - Reprioritise your commitment - Look for ways to prevent next years' scramble The 2023 clock is running down. Start right now! Control what you can control. Good luck! https://lnkd.in/gFXvBm6q
