Under the motto "Seed and Succeed 🌱," BIOTECH AUSTRIA invited to its 3rd Biotech Circle Austria at the Wiener Boerse this morning. Norbert Bischofberger delivered an inspiring talk, addressing the disparities between the biotech funding landscape in the US and Europe, followed by a lively panel discussion, with some thought-provoking questions. 𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥? 𝘐𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 "𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥" 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 "𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵"? I believe that we have fantastic scientific achievements 🔬 and success stories in Austria, yet perhaps we sometimes lack the confidence(?) to effectively communicate them to a wider audience. Let’s dare to be a little bit bolder, think bigger, and also embrace failures without fear. We can only truly convince others of Austria being a great place for biotech when we are convinced ourselves! Thank you, BIOTECH AUSTRIA for organizing such a great event! #BCA2024 #BiotechAustria #Science

As BIO-Europe kicks off today in Munich, we're making our debut with our crisp new branding. 🌟 How does BIO-Europe differ from the BIO International Convention set for June in San Diego? Many assume that one is merely the European counterpart of the U.S. event. While both are indeed fantastic partnering events, each hosting between 25,000 and 50,000 one-on-one meetings and paving the way for transformative partnerships, they have distinct backstories. The popular BIO Int'l convention is organized by BIO.org, a not-for-profit entity. That means when you buy a BIO San Diego ticket, you're not just gaining access, you're also supporting BIO’s advocacy efforts for the broader biotech industry. Not to mention that BIO's One-on-One, award-winning matchmaking solution, runs on Inpart Event 😊. If you use our partnering CRM, Deal, your meetings in San Diego will be seamlessly synced. But here's the good news for those attending BIO-Europe and using our partnering CRM: you can easily import your meetings using a straightforward export/import feature we've recently introduced.
Welcome to Munich! 🥨 The Inpart team has kicked off our first day at Bio-Europe Fall. Stop by booth #255 for a sweet treat and to learn more about our end-to-end partnering platform for life sciences. This premier event is bringing together over 18,500 industry leaders, researchers, and innovators from all corners of the world, making it the largest and most influential gathering in the biotechnology industry. The energy here is palpable as we dive into four days filled with networking, insightful discussions, and cutting-edge exhibitions. One of the highlights is the BIO One-on-One Partnering™ system, which is facilitating thousands of meetings between attendees. This tool is a game-changer, helping us make meaningful connections and explore potential collaborations that could shape the future of biotech. The educational sessions and panel discussions have been nothing short of inspiring. Topics cover everything from the latest scientific breakthroughs in gene editing and regenerative medicine to strategic business insights and regulatory developments. It’s incredible to hear from some of the brightest minds in our field and gain insights that can drive our own projects forward. Walking through the exhibition hall, I'm amazed by the innovative technologies and services on display. It's a vivid reminder of how fast our industry is evolving and the immense potential we have to address global challenges in healthcare, climate change, and food security. For anyone in the biotech field, the BIO International Convention is an unmissable event. It's not just about staying current with industry trends; it's about being part of a community that's driving real change and innovation. If you're here in San Diego, I'd love to connect and share our experiences. This week Chris Brown and Erin Clark attended #BIO24, the globe’s largest gathering of biotech leaders, to share QIC's vision for the Boggo Road Innovation Precinct (BRIP) in Brisbane's inner-south with 18,000 fellow delegates. As master developer of BRIP, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization convention in San Diego proved a powerful opportunity for QIC to connect with international counterparts engaged in building the future of biotech, innovation hubs and life science ecosystems. Key learnings from the event included: • Attracting the brightest minds depends on creating amenity-rich places. • A one-team approach will help deliver a cohesive innovation hub for the city. • Creating successful clusters requires government support and alignment. • People and facilities must be central to the development priorities. • Articulating the mission of the precinct is critical to its competitiveness. Our team was proud to represent Queensland alongside precinct partners and stakeholders including Translational Research Institute Australia, Vaxxas, Sanofi, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Griffith University, The University of Queensland, UniQuest, QUT (Queensland University of Technology), ARM Hub (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing), QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, University of the Sunshine Coast, Illumina, Cytiva, Novartis, Southern RNA 🧬, and Ed Husic MP. Thanks to Trade and Investment Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, MTPConnect, Department of State Development and Infrastructure, AusBiotech and Life Sciences Queensland Ltd (LSQ) for ensuring the success of the delegation and thereby strengthening the unified precinct development strategy that underpins BRIP. The world of drug development is evolving at an exhilarating pace, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this transformative journey! Gone are the days of the conventional reductionist approach, where drug discovery began with the molecule and then sought its applications. The landscape has shifted, and a holistic approach—aptly named "bedside to bench to bedside"—is taking center stage. Imagine a process where the journey starts by deeply understanding the needs and challenges of patients at the bedside. This empathetic foundation then informs the research at the bench, driving innovation that aligns precisely with real-world requirements. Finally, this cycle comes full circle, delivering solutions that genuinely enhance patient outcomes. At a time when collaboration and innovation are paramount, this new approach fosters synergies across disciplines. It bridges the gap between researchers, clinicians, and patients, fostering a shared vision for advancements that matter. Curious to learn more about how this paradigm shift is reshaping the future of drug development? Let's connect at the upcoming BIO Europe 2023. Exciting conversations, insights, and opportunities await. Feel free to reach out to me directly, and let's explore how we can drive change together! #DrugDevelopment #Innovation #BIO2023 #HealthcareRevolution Informa Connect

Key takeaways from LSX The LSX Nordic Congress is over after two inspiring days here in Copenhagen. While the current funding situation remains tough, we are leaving the congress with an optimistic view on the Nordic life science ecosystem. Here are our key takeaways from the congress: 💰 Funding challenges persist: The congress highlighted the ongoing difficulty in securing funding for biotech ventures. The heydays of 2020/21 are unlikely to return anytime soon. Biotech companies should prioritize strategies to extend their financial runways, streamline research programs, and maintain flexibility with both a Plan A and a Plan B. 📢 Value communication matters: While Nordic biotech companies excel in scientific innovation, many must improve their ability to convey the value of their research. Early communication of commercial value, gaps in standard of care, access pathways, and perspectives from patients, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders should be emphasized early in the development process. Focus on benefits, not features. 🔬 Focus on platform applications: Platform-based biotech companies should consider concentrating their efforts on one or a few select use cases that offer clear commercial potential, allowing for effective resource allocation and better foresight for investors. 🌍 Build global companies: Management teams within Nordic biotech companies should adopt a more international and diverse approach without losing their core strengths (quality of science, resilience, humbleness). This better positions Nordic biotechs to seize opportunities in the global market. Biobridge Partners remains dedicated to support the Nordic life science ecosystem and we look forward to continuing the productive dialogues initiated during the event. #LSXNordic #lifesciences #biobridgepartners
