🌟 New Series on Visual Merchandising Unveiled! 🌟 Dear Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Department Manager, Store VM, City VM, Cluster VM, Regional VM, and Business Manager – you are the unsung heroes keeping the retail world running smoothly, and I salute you for your superheroic efforts! But don't do this. 🦸♂️ Recently, I had the opportunity to visit a fantastic store and couldn't help but share my thoughts on something that caught my attention. While I completely appreciate the tremendous effort that goes into the seamless operation of stores, from the receiving of stock to the meticulous supply chain management, I observed a minor hiccup that I believe we can collectively address. I noticed the fitting rooms adorned with stock cartoons. I understand the challenges of managing stock flow and the crucial role it plays in achieving our sales targets. However, I'd like to suggest a small tweak that could enhance the overall shopping experience for customers. Removing the cartoons from the fitting room or floor area might seem like a small step, but it can make a big difference. I acknowledge that stock rooms are already filled to the brim, and resolving this might take some effort, but I believe it's a worthy investment in our customers' satisfaction. As a customer, I've experienced the exceptional work you all have put in to maintain the momentum in the past, and I know you can tackle this challenge too. P.S - And a quick note on sharing photos – my intention is not to defame anyone or any brand. Visual merchandising is not rocket science, taking small actions or steps can change the world Let's work together to make our stores shine even brighter! #RetailExcellence #CustomerExperience #VisualMerchandising #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork #vm #visualmerchandsier

Did you know Visual Merchandisers is just a fancy word for decorators? Agreed? Why not? It’s quite simple – all we do is arrange for a few materials/objects and decorate the space, it’s not that hard. Recently, my work was brushed off as mere decoration for a jewellery exhibition (that too by an ex-colleague). It’s eye-opening how little our community’s efforts are truly recognized here in India. I was shocked at how misunderstood my work was, even after 15+ years of being in this field. If you’ve also felt this in this or any other field, trust me, you’re not alone. Visual merchandising is often reduced to creating beautiful backgrounds, hanging ornaments, and flashy displays. But let me set the record straight: it’s so much more than that. As visual merchandisers, our role is to bridge the gap between marketing’s storytelling dreams and retail’s cold, hard numbers. It’s about weaving creativity with business acumen to deliver results that speak volumes while bringing a brand’s vision to life and creating that customer experience. But until people understand the depth of our craft, we’re in for an uphill battle. Share this post/comment down below if you’ve also experienced your work being misunderstood 👀🙋🏻♀️

One minute for VM ‘ 🆙Benefits of Visual Merchandising All types of retail stores can benefit from visual merchandising. Some of the key benefits include: 🔊 Reflects your brand – A good visual merchandising display stays in-line with the company’s overall brand. For example, a franchise business might want all its franchisees to have the same promotional displays. It gives a business a sense of identity and brand consistency. ♣️♠️♥️♦️ Engages the shoppers – An attractive and welcoming store creates a positive first impression. It encourages people to come into the store, and can help guide them in finding the right product for their needs. Visual merchandising helps create a positive shopping experience for customers so that they will be more likely to return for future visits. 💭 Grow sales – When done effectively, visual merchandising can increase sales by directing people to the products they want or need. It can also help them discover new products and solutions. A nicely dressed mannequin can encourage a person to seek out an outfit and accessories that they may not have originally been looking for. 📣 Whether you are selling clothes, a professional visual merchandiser can be an important asset to your team. They can help your retail business get the results you want. #visualmerchandising #lovemyjob #VM #doit #hardwork #becreative

Showroom Manager at INDOCHINO | Retail Creative | Photographer & Stylist | Content Creation for Fashion & Lifestyle Brands
Visual merchandising plays an important part in the retail business as it enhances the customer experience, showcases the products in an enticing way, and elevates the brand. Before, I used to think it’s just to make things look pretty. After a little over three years of doing VM, I come to understand not just the aesthetic aspect of it, but the business side of it as well. Which wall are customers likely to see first? Are they interacting with the product? Are those products moving? What products resonate with the clients? These are among the questions I ask myself whenever I move (or not move) something. It’s a constant education because there’s always something new to learn. 😊 #visualmerchandising #visualmerchandiser #retail #retailbusiness

Surprisingly, a recent study revealed that a whopping 80% of retailers are missing out on the extraordinary potential of visual merchandising. This means that the brilliance of visual merchandisers often goes unrecognized. Why is this the case? One reason is the lack of understanding surrounding the impact of visual merchandising. Research shows that well-executed visual merchandising can skyrocket sales by up to 30% and elevate brand perception. Yet, astonishingly, 85% of retailers fail to involve visual merchandisers in their strategic planning processes. This omission prevents these talented individuals from exerting their influence on crucial decisions that shape the overall retail strategy. But it doesn't end there. Visual merchandisers are often burdened with overwhelming workloads and receive limited support from retailers. As a fellow VM, I have experienced this firsthand. It's high time retailers recognize that visual merchandisers are not mere decorators; they are strategic partners who drive sales and create unforgettable customer experiences. Their success lies not only in the displays they craft but also in the collaborative efforts and relationships they build with others.
