As my friend Robert Teed, PCC often says "words matter"
The Future of Workplace is our theme for both Amsterdam (September 7) and Austin (December).
This is not another event with vested interest speakers trying to drag you back into the office, or design extravagant collaborative spaces as it hits their bottom line better, or sell technology to measure metrics that are already dated.
This is an event to discuss what Workplace will look like, and more importantly be purposefully used for, in the next 5 to 10 years.
Place clearly has it's place but it will never be what it used to be (louder for the brokers in the back), and for good reason.
Miro has a lot of employees choosing (because choice really matters) to be in the office, because Daaf Serné, MCR, SLCR and team have created an environment that they want to be in, in a city that is young, vibrant and eco-centric (not merely eco-friendly).
They (shock horror) asked the employees what they wanted and (spoiler alert) it was not ping pong or more collaboration space.
We will address how employees can flourish in the new environment (and when working hybrid) in a roundtable with Simone Fenton-Jarvis BSc MBA FIWFM and Ali Khan, how to create Future Flexible strategies with Tammy Lindberg and Hamish McKenzie and the technology we will need to support ways of working with Sid van Wijk and Rowan de Bruin.
We will also showcase the most innovative food and beverage program I have seen (more to follow on that)
And to add to what is already an incredible agenda, our friends at EDGE (thank you Cees van der Spek) will be hosting a welcome event at the visually, socially and environmentally stunning Valley.
"Valley embodies the major transformation being undertaken by the Zuidas district in Amsterdam. Originally a business district, Zuidas has developed into a lively, multifunctional environment that forms an integral part of Amsterdam. Valley is in perfect keeping with this transformation, as it offers the perfect living, working and recreation space. We call this ‘the evolution of city life’."
