For what felt like an opportunity that fell into our lap, yet far from the truth! Rather this is another great story to add to our timeline as a moment in the making. We thank networking for this moment - the foundation of great business and experiences. Yesterday we made our first delivery to the Bacardi International Limited Building as a snack supplier for their employees 🤯 To think, we have been dabbling with the thought of proposing our products to local bars and yet before any of that has come to fruition, we recieved favor and a request to supply the ultimate bar facility in Bermuda! We would like to thank Andreaz Glasgow - summer intern of Bacardi for referring our business to his colleagues without hesitation (lol). We got to know this innovative young man after he reached out to our sister company, BERMUDA BRAND BOX, for corporate gifts. One thing we can say is, he does not sleep on an opportunity, even if is doesn’t directly effect him - Thank you for being you! We would also like to thank Alvin Harvey and his team, for meeting with us, sampling our product and almost instantly giving us the green light - Thank you, we are excited to be working with you! As for us, this has slapped on that extra layer of confidence to go out, make the introductions, continue networking and keep believing in the great quality of our product. A culture of fearlessness, family, and founders is the secret of the Bacardi’s success. It was a wonderful experience of hearing Mr.Vinay Golikeri (MD of “Bacardi”). He gave some enlightening details regarding the company's culture and level of accomplishment. One of the key points that “Bacardi” stressed during the conversation was the importance of its employees. Instead of calling their personnel "employees," they refer to them as Primos, which is Spanish for "brothers" or "cousins." This kind of family bonding in company is essential for a robust culture. “Bacardi” likewise bases their business on the principles of Fearlessness, Family, and Founders. “Bacardi” is dedicated to enhancing the brand's legacy. This requires establishing long-term decisions and investments that will benefit the company in the long run. Mr. Golikeri also shared his thoughts on the business world as a whole. He stressed that there are other reasons to join a company besides just to work, these include exposure, culture, and potential legacy. He also enhanced to get outside of their comfort zones, take chances, and absorb diverse perspectives. He also said that a company become richer when they have a diverse range of experiences and that we should follow our careers in a zigzag manner rather than a straight path. Mr. Golikeri concluded by highlighting the importance of perseverance and strength. He claimed that each of us must have clear objectives, trust in our groups, and grant authority to those in our vicinity. I love this exercise. Many (many) moons ago, I came across Rachel Hanretty at a business expo in Glasgow. It stuck with me for three reasons: 📌 Rachel spoke brilliantly 📌 I adore macarons 📌 Mademoiselle Macaron is a business run by women in a (friendly, encouraging, but also) then-male-dominated networking scene. Now, in an employee-engagement chapter of my creative career, I find updates like this significant for other professional reasons too 🤓 The semiotics of a job title are not the be underestimated. It has a huge impact on how it feels to have that title, to do that job. And it affects how people inside and outside the business think about the role, and the person in it. To get to the right one, you need delicate blend of ingredients. Clarity and gettability. Accuracy in reflecting the responsibilities. Salience in the specialism or industry. And importantly, a dash of character that’s true to the brand and the spirit of the business. It’s a fiddly old thing. And engaging and consulting with your people to get it right seems critical to me. So I want to say chapeau to The Mademoiselle, for collaborating to capture all of the above and more, and doing the business and the product justice in the process. Bravo! 🇫🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👏🏻

An interesting and fun afternoon at Imbibe 24 yesterday. In a hall at London's Olympia packed full of drinks and hospitality brands Beth Marchant and I: - tried nut moonshine (amazing), Moutai (biggest drinks brand in the world with a awe inspiring story, but frankly disgusting!), and a beautiful cocktail from the team at the bar in the Shard's Shangri-La Hotel - learnt that there's no tax on beer up to 3.4% ABV which is why there are so many 3% beers coming out now, that there are around 100,000 wines on sales in the UK, and that during COVID BAME hospitality workers were 26x more likely to lose their jobs - saw so many opportunities for brand design agencies to be at this conference, telling the drinks and hospitality industries about the value they can bring And yet, not a single brand design agency on any stage! OFFF, D&AD, HOW, SXSW - you can't move for brand design agencies, and rightly so. But our industry is missing a trick by not being out and having a presence at conferences in other sectors. At Red Setter we're changing that. We're getting our clients out on these stages. #prfordesignagencies
