I recently attended the Google I/O Connect event in Berlin, and it was truly an amazing experience! 🌟 It gathered over 1500+ developers from 100+ EMEA countries, providing a unique platform to learn about the latest advancements in AI, Web, Mobile, and Cloud technologies. From insightful sessions and workshops to engaging interactions with fellow developers, the event was packed with learning opportunities. It was a delight to meet new people and exchange ideas, both during the sessions and at the social gatherings. Highlights: Jason Mayes's session on Web AI was particularly enlightening. He always brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, and this time was no different. The insights into how the new AI models work and are built were simply astonishing. Gilberto Cocchi's talk on Google Chrome and the Web Platform was impressive, providing valuable information on enhancing performance and the latest advancements in web platforms. Pulkit Bhuwalka session introduced Gemma 2, a lightweight AI model capable of running locally on devices without an internet connection, showcasing the power of on-device AI (simply amazing and open source). Sessions on web technologies with Una Kravets, Jecelyn Yeen, Bramus Van Damme, Jakob Pörschmann and more inspiring sessions. Standout tech: Gemma 2, Visual blocks, Google AI Edge, Augmented Reality in Google Maps, Web AI, PWAs, Application Accessibility. Learning about the latest trends and advancements in the AI field was fascinating. The practical examples and demonstrations provided a deeper understanding of how to leverage these technologies effectively. I learned a lot more than I can show or write here. The depth of knowledge shared at Google I/O Connect was immense, covering a wide range of topics and providing a deeper understanding of current and future technologies. A heartfelt thank you to Angelika Zaucha, Alicja Heisig-Chiarello, and the entire community for organizing this amazing event. The knowledge gained and the connections made are invaluable, and I’m excited to apply these new insights in my work.
