The integrity of global logistics has impact on both military and commercial industries. We're pleased to see United States Transportation Command proactively address the cybersecurity of logistics. Understanding and defending the integrity of OT data generated by logistics providers like rail and aviation operators -- across military and private commercial entities -- is a best practice to inform mission threats and establish a firm cybersecurity posture. FYI - article published by the European Security & Defence (ESD) Journal on "Cyber Blindness" to OT-related cyber risks, in collaboration with BMT and Fortinet teams - 'Two industry authorities in correspondence with ESD have argued that government, naval, and industry eyes must be open to the cyber risks to what is known as operational technology (OT). To generate its operational effects, a high-end naval warship will carry a range of state-of-the-art, automation-focused and information technology (IT)-based weapons and sensors. The IT underpinning such systems is crucial to their operation, and to their operational effectiveness. It also presents risks to their operational security.' - https://lnkd.in/eAjk5YvZ #cybersecurity #CyberBlindness #OT #cyberRisks #BMT #ESD #Fortinet #Government #Naval #Maritime #Defence

DEFENSA: Real-Time Cybersecurity for Naval Networks Welcome back to our exploration of DEFENSA—a cybersecurity solution engineered to enhance military and commercial naval operations. Today, we'll take a closer look at how DEFENSA operates to secure maritime networks. Think of DEFENSA as an elite team of sentinels stationed at the core of naval networks. These vigilant guardians, represented by DEFENSA's Inline appliances, meticulously examine every data packet in real-time as it flows through the network. Their mission is simple: to ensure no cyber threat goes unnoticed. But DEFENSA's strength lies in more than just identification. It's the dynamic response that makes it exceptional. Upon detecting a threat, DEFENSA doesn't just alert; it takes action. Like a skilled surgeon, it corrects and heals the network, thwarting cyberattacks before they disrupt naval operations. This is DEFENSA's role—a proactive, precise commitment to safeguarding naval assets. In our next post, we will delve into how DEFENSA's dynamic fault tolerance and adaptive behavior fortify naval networks against both known and emerging threats. Stay tuned as we continue our journey into the heart of DEFENSA's capabilities. #DEFENSA #NavalCybersecurity #Innovation #usnavy #usmilitary #cybersecurity

Welcome aboard! British Army general says UK now conducting ‘hunt forward’ operations By Alexander Martin; 25 Sep 2023 Lt. Gen. Tom Copinger-Symes is the deputy commander of the United Kingdom’s Strategic Command, responsible for the Ministry of Defence’s offensive and defensive cyber capabilities — as well as activities that lie somewhere in between. He told Recorded Future News that Strategic Command was now opening up about its hunt forward operations — a type of defensive activity pioneered by U.S. Cyber Command in which military cyber experts deploy to a foreign nation to detect malicious activity on the host nation’s networks. These operations were previously softly referenced in the Defence Command Paper 2023, when the MoD stated: “Our ability to both learn from events and hunt forward to find threats will generate strategic advantage for our personnel and partners in conflict.” Explicit confirmation that the British Armed Forces have been conducting hunt forward operations has not previously been reported. https://lnkd.in/g9TsyXQA
