This is true for a segment of entrepreneurs. Women and minorities are still lacking access to resources and mentors truly invested in their success. The true indicator of changes in entrepreneurship is when we can increase the rate of success of startups, and that women and minorities have equity in it. We have made progress, however improvements in Equity and Inclusion are still a long way to go. #equalopportunities #entrepreneurship

Piggy-backing off Bill Kenney 👋 's post here. Reddit unveiled a brand refresh yesterday, designed by the pros at Pentagram. This rebrand seems very intentional to soften Reddit's image (which can be quite dark in some corners) and appeal to a wider audience and investors before their IPO. Reddit to me is an interesting brand in that its visual identity/style has almost always been completely transparent and has not been utilized as a core asset for growth. Their identity is disproportionate to their market share and value. They're one of the biggest sites on the internet with massive name recognition and brand equity...but next-to-no visual identity recall or staying power. This refresh is definitely a response to that challenge and also to the negative/seedier aspects of Reddit. I'm curious to see if/how Pentagram's genius can change that for them and bolster a more solid brand image and public perception. It's the exact opposite of how Twitter rebranded to X, which seemed to me like doubling down on Twitter's underbelly of yuck. This is why we are on a deep dive right now to secure finance from sources outside the VC and gaming sphere, enough to build our next game, which should then make us self-financing forever. We do not plan to handover IP or equity for this. We do instead plan to align our goals and values with significant organisations that can see the benefit of supporting our mission. We aim to grow our already substantial team, incrementally adding workd class talent into a permanent family and a lifestyle business. No need to crunch for quarterly returns, parallel developments ensuring no gaps and redundancies, income streams from books, tv, games and a museum, all financing asset creation and story research and development. We believe we have a winning strategy. Time will tell.

Reddit mascot Snoo got its body back. What do you think? 🤔 As Reddit prepares for an IPO, engaging in a brand refresh is common to maximize the success of that big step. We see this often... 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗜𝗣𝗢? 1. 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 → Alignment in regards to brand and related assets is paramount before taking another big step in the business. Through years of growth and expansion visual and verbal assets get fragmented and lose consistency.        👉 Inconsistency is the enemy of brand building.     2. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 → Although Reddit is still very much the same, it's also pushing into a new version of itself. That intention and feeling must be reflected clearly in the brand to reach maximum return via an IPO.        👉 A brand should represent who you wish to become, as much as who you are currently. This refresh obviously goes well beyond the mascot, and all in all, I believe they did achieve the points above given what I've seen so far. I look forward to seeing and hearing more of the new "story" if there is one as they ramp up into IPO mode. 📌 I can't help but get teletubby vibes from Snoo.
