One of the biggest lessons you learn when doing something and going it alone is where the support comes from and it’s always eye opening as to who you would think supports you on your journey and who doesn’t. It’s something I teach all my clients / my co-authors in the book series that so much of what you build will be from strangers supporting you. It’s funny even after those you think would support you after what they see is ’success’ coming in for you and reach out wanting or with asks still don’t actually support you. Like I say it’s human nature to be curious. Hey, I used to also see who out of those coming to me with asks had unsubscribed from my mailing list, even though to my face were in ‘apparent support’ Harsh lessons but truly a blessing for anybody. It truly is one of the best ways to close doors on people. Wish them well, but you know that they only come with an ask or a want for them. Then you just keep moving forward & that fear so many people hold of not doing things for the sake of judgement from those that know them, quite literally disappears. The amount of people registering for Volume 1 coming in through such a short space of time is mind blowing…. yet as natural instinct you check where the support is coming in from and at times you are presented again with only a rare handful of those you know personally supporting you still. This is why anybody who has built something will attest that it takes complete strangers believing in you and supporting to build something. So if you concentrate on those you know, you won’t get very far. Always think outside the box of how you can get your work out there & in front of people who do resonate with you and who will support you. You don’t need to have it all figured out. All you need to do is take the first step. --- Ok, real talk. Starting the week with a plan and focus is a total game-changer Step 1 - Clarity Make sure you know exactly what it is you want to achieve this week, and break it down further so you know what you need to get done each day to reach your weekly goals. If at the end of the day you aren’t on track, you’ll have the chance to reshuffle things and get back on track before the end of the week. Step 2 - Prioritise Realistically Don’t get overwhelmed by everything you have to do, ever. Work out what you have to do now that will progress you towards your goals, what’s urgent?
