Battles In this day when everything seems to be coming to a head. What are you willing to battle for? It's hard with all the problems throughout the world. You're bomarded every day by so many of them. How do you choose? Listen to your heart. It's all that truly matters when you're in crisis. I can't begin to understand your struggles, but I can lift you up to believe in yourself. If it's politics, go local. Yes, the President matters in the big picture, but what happens locally affects you far more. If it's kids, reach out to local organizations. If it's disater relief, find a local agency that has "boots on the ground" to make a true difference. If it's arts, go to a show. Give to a local theatre or artist, contribute to build your community, and together we can accomplish anything. Don't fight the battles, clear your mind, and be the light in your community.

These are all great examples of how to explain homelessness in ways that open minds and hearts. We were honored to premiere Unzipped: An Autopsy of American Inequality this past June where we discussed also evidence-based solutions and lifted up Roadmap Home 2030. https://lnkd.in/dm9Rk4zf

He was granted bail, paid ten grand was out in 24 hours. There are Winners and Losers in Life - The 1964 classic movie Mary Poppins is getting adjusted from U to a PG rating. The term “Hottentots” is considered rude to the Khoikhoi people of South Africa. Accept and Embrace - The United States Army is cutting the force by 24,000 spots as recruiting continues to suffer. These are just spots because they can’t even get troops to fill them in the first place. Merit is no longer first, and the troops know it. Working Hard is Not Enough - Denver is saying it is NOT laying off fund the border crisis, instead it is reducing hourly employees to zero hours to pay for the accommodations of illegals in Denver. Need to get 4.3 million dollars. Confidence is the Key - The homeless encampments on the I-5 in the U-District in Seattle have been cleared. Crews removed 210,000 lbs. of debris from the site. Horrible narratives about people experiencing homelessness have persisted for decades. More recently, there has also been a trend towards demonizing the workforce that serves them. Following the exceptional work to reduce homelessness in Dallas, check out this video from Housing Forward and the All Neighbors Coalition; it does a excellent job illustrating the various forces that drive people into homelessness, and what it looks like when the trained professionals on the frontlines house people directly from encampments. This is the exact opposite of a carceral approach.
