The Power of Content and The Power of Fans. No sooner the special screenings were announced of the movie “Businessman” the shows started getting full !, and not only full , the number of shows had to be increased due to the demand ... in spite of the fact that the movie “Businessman” was released way back in the year 2012. What this just indicates is that 1) There is no stopping if the content is good and most important of all 2) People love the cinemas , there can be no substitute for a Cinema Viewing. Many a debates are held with the topic “Has time and circumstances made movie theaters passé?” … Well , the experience and the facts indicate that there is no merit in this debate !! … If you give the right content , people would love to flock to the theaters !!

An iconic Hollywood movie house has been brought back to life. Netflix purchased, and spent $70 million dollars, restoring Grauman’s Egyptian theater to pristine condition. On an earnings call in April of this year, Netflix’s CEO Ted Sarandos said, “Driving folks to a theater is just not our business.” The company now owns an iconic theater in Hollywood. There could be a plan afoot. Tom Rothman of Sony Pictures, speaking at CinemaCon also in April of this year, said that “streamers don’t create movie stars, only global hit movies do.” Is the Egyptian Theater restoration the first step in Netflix widening its embrace of theatrical releasing? Apple and Amazon have already announced plans to increase their theatrical release efforts. Apple’s “Napoleon” is being released in theaters this week. Sony Pictures is handling the distribution. Last year Netflix released “Glass Onion, A Knives Out Mystery” in theaters for only one week. Although it was only in 700 theaters, it made $15 million that week and outearned, per screen, every other movie. Analysts have projected that “Glass Onion” would’ve made well over $100 million if it had enjoyed a broad release for the usual 6 to 7 weeks. Subscriber churn, tightening competition, and recessionary forces are all driving media companies to refine their business processes. “Windowing” content is once again in vogue. Is Netflix about to begin a push into broader theatrical releases? Will they be using the newly renovated Grauman’s Egyptian Theater to host red-carpet premiers as part of wide theatrical releases? I’m working on the last part of the “media apocalypse” series now. It’s going to be filled with information on media trends in the new year. Look for that article to post on a Monday in the next couple of weeks. Sending best wishes to everyone. We have much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving. All the best to you. -Randall

With this being said, through the fusion of artistry and immersion, theatre makers should always task themselves with leaving a lasting impact, sparking conversations and creating memorable experiences for audience. 🗣️💡 What examples have you seen of memorable immersive theatre? 🎭🌈 #TheatreMagic #InnovativeMarketing #CreativeExpressions

How can movie theatres attract more viewers? #LIPostingChallenge #LinkedInNewsIndia Theatre owners, distributors, and producers may soon lower the prices of cinema tickets to attract more viewers. This follows the success of the Rs 75 ticket on World Cinema Day, 2022, which attracted 6.5 million viewers, a report in Mint stated. Currently, tickets cost nearly Rs 350-400 in India Movie theaters can host special screenings, Q&A sessions, panel discussions, trivia nights, costume contests, and other activities that encourage participation and interaction among the audience and the filmmakers. Cinemas can increase footfall by focusing on important factors that influence moviegoers' preferences. Factors such as the type of story, genre, and artists/casts are considered significant in the selection of films.
