Here are my slides from the International Timing and Sync Forum (ITSF) 2022, over a year ago. This presentation roughly shows what it takes to get precision time sync all the way to end users. Such a capability can enable a lot of new cloud based applications that suffer from the inherited network latency. Even though the application in presentation was about virtual reality, other use cases can be considered as well. For instance, other mass online gaming platforms, end-user online security, end-user data encryption, online trading, etc... . Getting there takes a lot of effort and courage from the industry. Of course there will be the need for a lot of technical work and challenges to be accounted for, in order to enable this technology. It is like, you need the right plumbing for getting timing to the end-user. Many moving pieces, from the cloud all the way to the end-user require to change. There is that much, a determined group can do, but there is no limit to what a determined community can do. So if you are in, let's work together to make this happen. We have the OCP-TAP as a place to work on community efforts like this one. Let's focus on long term wins of this technology.

Our core assumptions as we build the future of an Internet that seamlessly routes to web3 whenever needed: 1) Internet users & businesses don't care about what networks does data route through (same server, within datacenter, wifi, CDNs..) or which mechanism is used to move data across networks (API, Websockets, P2P ) so long as they don't interfere with connectivity, reach, speed, and cost-efficiency. And same goes for money. 2) Blockchains are trust management tools and do not solve user or business problems for on-platform interactions for most internet applications though on-platform interactions must have an interoperable reconciliation & settlement mechanism with the core network layer for off-platform interactions. We've already solved the web2 user onboarding to web3: our Regulated Wallet API. Now it's time to make web3 work with existing large infrastructures & products without forcing corporate businesses to impact performances for users during on-platform interactions. We will completely hide what's in web2 and what's in web3, for everyone: money, goods, assets, loyalty points, and any other type digital interactions.
