At Safelite, we believe our responsibilities extend far beyond the repair shop. This video highlights our Foundation’s story and shares the impact of our goal to drive positive change on and off the road. We are dedicated to empowering those who may have hit a bump along the way and do so by partnering with organizations that provide safety, stability, and a sense of belonging. We can't wait to share more as we embark on this exciting journey.

What's my Safelite story, you ask? Well, let me share it with you. My wife took our 2021 Lexus GX 460 to Safelite in Minneola, Florida, on Monday, May 13, for a windshield replacement four days before my family relocated to Texas. We wanted it replaced before she and my son made the 1,100-mile drive from Orlando to Austin. Our vehicle was in like-new condition, except for the cracked windshield, before Safelite worked on it. Once in Texas, my wife worked with the North Austin location, and they referred her to a body shop for an estimate to repair the scratch. The gentleman at the body shop estimated the repair at ~$2,700 but also stated that to repair the vehicle, he must disassemble the roof, including the sunroof, and that he couldn't guarantee everything would go back together correctly. He also stated that the paint match would likely be less than 100%. Considering this, we informed the location manager that we didn't want to pursue the repair due to the body shop technician's statement but that Safelite had still damaged our vehicle and should compensate us. She stated that repairing the car is the only compensation Safelite can offer. I've since contacted Safelite's executive leadership, but unfortunately, I continue to get the runaround. The lack of response from the executive leadership has only added to our disappointment. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've had issues with Safelite, but it will likely be the last. We'll choose differently next time, and so should you.

Safelite had the truck for most of the day. When my wife and son picked it up, one of the side molding pieces blew off on the way home. To our dismay, Safelite reused the old molding pieces, instead of ordering new ones. Upon reaching home, my wife discovered that the Safelite team had also scratched the top of the car above the windshield during installation. This situation caused significant inconvenience and stress, especially given the impending move. I called the next day and spoke with a representative, who sent a tech to the house. Once there, he discovered that the windshield wasn't placed correctly and was too low. We didn't have time to replace the windshield again, given that my wife was managing the packing of our home for the move, so the representative had the molding pieces rushed and installed before my wife and son headed out. She said to follow up with a Safelite location in Texas once we arrived. continued in the next comment
