'My door is always open'. As leaders and managers, it is tempting to say this as we want to signal our accessibility and approachability. While the intent is often good, the reality can be quite different. Despite our best intentions, many people hesitate to walk through that open door. They may feel their concerns are too minor or worry that their needs aren't as pressing as the many responsibilities they see us juggling daily. This self-filtering might be even more pronounced when our 'door' is a virtual one, and our calendars are full of back-to-back meetings. #leadership #management
