30+ Yrs in Auto Wholesale: 🇨🇦🇺🇸 | Community Builder | Advocate | Mentor | Investor | Innovator | Import/Export Specialist | Founder Can-Am Warranty & SOAR | I make opinion based posts and predictions here
Wholesale--The Unsung Art of the Auto Industry Let's face it...Wholesale is a beast, and most dealerships mess it up....Badly Why .... In my opinion They either lack a solid plan or past strategies/employees simply missed the mark. So...Most of them pick one marketplace and then relinquish control to an entity that can only really focus on conversion. (So incredibly unlike the otherwise Alpha minded Car Dealer who likes control of everything) Here's the real scoop on wholesale... It's not about hopes and prayers at an auction (If you make enough deals to even get there) -It is about cultivating strong regional relationships. -It is about understanding the strengths of those around you, -It is about leveraging the right tools -Being willing to test and tweak your strategies based on comprehensive feedback and data. ie Transactions you've made or witnessed ..(Not just the data a vendor force feeds you as gospel) Success in wholesale doesn't happen overnight. -It emerges from making hundreds of both minute and significant adjustments. -Hundreds of connections made -Going the extra mile This high-velocity arena is definitely not for the faint-hearted, the easily distracted, or closed minded. If you're experienced at it , you are on the critically endangered species list Master it, and you’re not just a part of the team—you’re a linchpin, one they can't afford to lose. Especially not as things start to get VERY ugly. Wholesale isn’t just a part of the business—it is THE business for those who know how to play it right. Maximizing each and every transaction The amount of deals that will be missed in '24 and '25, because there isn't access to an in-house expert, will be impossible to quantify #AutoIndustry #WholesaleMastery #BusinessStrategy #Leadership #PeopleOverPixels

🌟My Career Journey so far in the Wholesale Industry as Operations and Buying As I reflect on my career journey in the wholesale industry, particularly in operations and buying, I am filled with a sense of excitement and fulfillment. I would like to share my story to inspire and encourage more young people to consider joining this dynamic and rewarding field. I started my career in the wholesale industry fresh out of college, eager to apply my business knowledge and contribute to a fast-paced environment. The opportunities to learn and grow were plentiful, and I quickly realized that this industry was the perfect fit for my ambitions. One of the most exhilarating aspects of working in wholesale operations was the constant buzz of activity. From managing logistics and supply chain processes to ensuring smooth operations across various departments, every day brought new challenges and opportunities to innovate. What truly ignited my passion, however, was the crucial role of buying in the wholesale industry. As a buyer, I had the privilege of working closely with suppliers, analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and making strategic purchasing decisions. It required a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to anticipate market demands. Over time, I discovered that being a buyer also meant playing a pivotal role in shaping consumer experiences. By carefully curating product assortments, I understood the power of offering unique and high-quality merchandise to customers. It was about building relationships with suppliers, understanding their strengths, and collaborating to bring exceptional products to market. Throughout my career, I have witnessed the wholesale industry continually evolve, driven by technological advancements and changing consumer behaviors. Today, it presents an even more exciting landscape for young professionals to explore and thrive in. If you are considering a career in the wholesale industry, I urge you to embrace the challenges, seize opportunities to learn, and embrace innovation. The industry is ripe with prospects for those willing to adapt, think creatively, and leverage technology to streamline operations. Furthermore, the wholesale industry offers immense room for personal and professional growth. The diversity of roles and responsibilities is extensive, ranging from operations and logistics to buying, sales, and marketing. This versatility ensures that you will never be stuck in a monotonous routine, but rather be engaged in a field that keeps you constantly on your toes. To all the young and aspiring professionals out there if you need any advice please don't hesitate to contact me. Embrace the challenges, embrace innovation, and join us in shaping the future of this dynamic industry. Together, we can make a lasting impact. I would like to give a special thanks to some of my mentors through the journey Marcus Singh Neil Smith Jim Hawkins Bob Hughes
