This year, 1,513 students participated in 98 Kent Music-supported projects across 48 schools! From choirs to orchestras and more, we help schools run a variety of musical projects. Group music learning is crucial for young musicians and is a key part of the National Plan for Music Education and our vision.
The entire point of The Marlowe Sessions was to re-correct the narrative and explore the forgotten and ignored materials sitting dormant for centuries, reimagining, reinventing, repurposing - and reintroducing his work to new audiences and students... It was the first time in history that the entire works were produced and performed in a complete series. In advance of the Film Gala and Premiers... and the audio releases the story is being refashioned and retold in the public sphere. Building momentum… Many thanks to J R Santana and Professor Paul Morrissey - and of course Deborah Shaw at The Marlowe for the amazing support through and during the rehearsals - plus being our most valued audience member, not to mention all the advice and guidance through to the gala event and premiers next month. This has been one hell of a ride.
