A few months into my new part-time job….. Recently I was selected as Director of Operations and Quality Control in the Diaper Division at Haynes Inc., I’ve gained insight which has helped me grow as a professional. Here are five beneficial truths I’ve further cemented in life and in business: 1. Patience truly is a virtue. 2. It can get messy…. breathe, proceed promptly with dignity and grace. 3. In a collaborative effort, always be aware of your team member’s needs via communication and transparency. 4. Not all cries are created equal- listen carefully to find the solution to the most glaring problem. 5. The power of a smile has the ability to transcend words.

In light of the recent report from the ONS regarding the last two quarters of 2023: UK gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have fallen by an unrevised 0.3% in Quarter 4 (Oct to Dec) 2023, following an unrevised fall of 0.1% in the previous quarter. The economy decreased for two consecutive quarters, while GDP for 2023 as a whole is estimated to have increased by an unrevised 0.1% compared with 2022. In output terms in Quarter 4 2023 there were falls in all three main sectors with declines of 0.1% in services, 1.1% in production, and 0.9% in construction output. (ONS Statistics) I think it is important to highlight the amazing work Clearview New Build has done and is doing, in growing tenders & live sites. But the work isn't done! We want more and can do more, and importantly can deliver more for our new build partners both existing and yet to come on board (you know you want to 😉). As well as boasting capacity to spare from our Wakefield factory, we are actively recruiting and growing the CVNB division, contrary to the often negative news in the fenestration sector with businesses closing. If your new build housing project requires a quality fabricator/installer with continuity of supply, please do get in touch. I loved being part of this important pipeline management series with Tom Lavery over at Jiminny 📈 Some top tips include... 💭 Collaboration - Sales and marketing need to be 100% aligned with regular communication between the two teams. How is your messaging changing to address market needs? 💭 Playbook - Be crystal clear, as a team, on your GTM strategy which I would always recommend delivering in a playbook. Knowing your ideal client profile, buyer personas etc. It should be your bible. 💭Methodologies - Embed a sales methodology as the foundation to your sales process and ensure everyone singing from the same hymn sheet. 💭Multi-threading. Widen your sphere of influence and involve an exec sponsor early on as an ambassador to your program. 💭Timing - Sales people talk a lot about wanting to solve buyer's challenges, and whilst this is still incredibly important, in a tough economy we need to be asking whether it's a business priority. 💭Enablement technology - use it in your process to drive efficiency and insights. A good example might be AI to support with mundane tasks so you can channel your focus towards being that trusted advisor across your pipeline.
