Partner, Inclusion & Diversity Leader at PwC Brasil, Global Disability Inclusion Leader and Member of the Inclusion & Diversity Global Council at PwC
As Davos takes place this week I am looking forward to hearing more about how organisations and leaders across the world make sure that throughout 2024 and beyond, diversity and more specifically Disability Inclusion remains top of mind as both a moral and business imperative. A society that is set up to be inclusive and accessible for all, including the over 15% of the global population that live with and experience disability, is a society that thrives both economically and socially. Driving Disability Inclusion is more than a moral imperative - it’s a business one, and it is critical we continue to advocate for stronger Disability Inclusion, which is why it was important to me to share my voice in this article written by The Valuable 500 and The World Economic Forum. #DisabilityInclusion #PwCInclusionJourney #Davos #WEF

All too often, the perspectives and voices of young people are absent from important decision-making processes. Young people with disabilities have the lived experience to create authentic, innovative solutions to systemic inclusion barriers. We need to listen to them and ensure their voices are heard and their insights and perspectives are at the core of program design. Hear from young Africans on what it takes to break barriers and unlock the power of disability inclusion: https://bit.ly/3RDk9gq

Happy Friday! A month ago, we celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. However, I truly believe that creating awareness about disability inclusion should not be limited to a day or a month, but should be something we consistently bring to people's attention. Today, I am sharing this World Economic Forum article about the business case for disability inclusion. I personally believe it is important to include people with disabilities because it's the right thing to do. However, I understand that for some companies, it is crucial to highlight why they might be missing out on a vast pool of talent and potential revenue if they fail to include people with disabilities in their workforce and customer base. Click on the article, read about it, champion inclusion, and have a beautiful first weekend of 2024! #Diversity #Inclusion #DisabilityInclusion

United Nations...Social Inclusion..."Embracing, not coercing or forcing it"...Take a look at it: "The goal of social integration is to create “a more stable, safe and just society for all”, in which every individual, each with rights and responsibilities, has an active role to play. Such an inclusive society must be based on the principles of embracing – not coercing or forcing – diversity and using participatory processes that involve all stakeholders in the decision-making that affects their lives. Social inclusion is the process by which efforts are made to ensure equal opportunities – that everyone, regardless of their background, can achieve their full potential in life. Such efforts include policies and actions that promote equal access to (public) services as well as enable citizen’s participation in the decision-making processes that affect their lives."
The inclusion of persons with disabilities is essential for creating a more resilient and fair future. World leaders, organizations and civil society representatives are gathering this week at UNHQ in New York to discuss critical issues related to disability inclusion.
