‼️ Being in Tech is tough ‼️ I see everyday people posting about wanting to get into the technology industry because of the money or the ability to work remote from anywhere and much more. BUT they don’t know what the cost is on the backend. So let me explain what I mean. As being a #sitereliabilityengineer sounds cool and all you have to be able to back that up with putting in a lot of work. And when I say putting in work I mean long days and nights. With supporting infrastructure or a product you’re job is to make sure that product or system is operating at the top notch level it can due to business objectives. This is a job where you have to look past yourself and see how what you are doing is impacting everyone else. One incorrect configuration or a missed step in an execution plan. All the details matter, small or BIG. Don’t let anyone fool you with the work that is needed to succeed in the technology industry. I’ve worked tons of hours this week and it’s only Thursday. Most would quit but when you have people relying on you it’s a must to get the work done. Missing dinner, Missing my kids first day of school and more. It’s not easy but when you have production issues get your cape on like Superman and get to work. I love #technology and probably will never leave the industry but do your homework and choose your path accordingly. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows but you can make the most out of what you put in. I’m greatful for a supporting family and team and let it be know. Although it’s not just about orchestrating software solutions; it’s about crafting a technical roadmap that aligns with our company's vision and ambitions, while ensuring scalability and adaptability in the ever-evolving energy landscape. Engineers thrive when they’re solving challenges. And there’s nothing I enjoy more than working with our teams to come up with an approach that solves problem A really well, but it also opens up different ways to think about problems B, C, D and E.
