This is really awesome news :) Apple Podcasts is now adding a transcript feature directly into their podcast experience. I've often said that podcasts are one of the most accessible formats for anyone to jump in and tell their story. This makes it even more accessible - and allows a whole new audience to easily engage. When I was running my personal podcast, auto-transcription was costly, and transcribing an episode yourself took hours - on top of an already busy workload to produce and maintain an indie show. Thankfully, auto-transcription is much easier (and cheaper) to do now - and making your content accessible should be the goal for everyone. A fantastic article from Vanity out about how the celebrity rush into podcasting hasn't worked, and the article concludes that defining what a podcast is, has become harder. Any podcast on YouTube is going to be the Joe Rogan-style interview format (very few do it well), and that's akin to thinking that television is only shows like "The View", i.e. a gabfest.
