It's not you... the job market is tough right now. If you’re applying for hundreds of jobs and getting very few responses, you’re not alone. Here are some reasons why the current job market is so challenging: 🔹 Economic Factors: Rising costs and inflation impact company budgets, leading to hiring freezes and internal restructuring. (Federal Reserve Economic Data) 🔹 High Competition: With more people entering the job market, there’s increased competition for available positions. (140 Job Applications submitted every second on LinkedIn) 🔹 Skills Mismatch: Rapid technological advancements are creating a gap between the skills job seekers have and what employers need. (World Economic Forum - Future of Jobs Reports) 🔹 Automated Screening: Many companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to screen resumes, which can filter out qualified candidates. 🔹 Remote Work Trends: The rise of remote work has expanded the talent pool, increasing competition. (Gallup - Remote Work Trends) 🔹 High Number of Layoffs: Many industries have experienced significant layoffs, adding more job seekers to an already competitive market. This means that with the current job market dynamics, the traditional approach of simply applying for jobs and waiting for a response is no longer effective. At Profexa, we understand these challenges and are here to help you navigate them. Our career coaching services are designed to make your job search more effective and less stressful. I have a couple of tips for job seekers right now to consider when searching for your next position: Apply to Hybrid and Onsite opportunities: While remote work might be your preference, hybrid and onsite jobs often have less competition and are becoming more the norm. You never know what might end up being your dream job! Open Up to Contract Roles: While permanent roles might be the goal, don't dismiss contract positions, and don't wait to apply until you're situation is dire. Contract roles typically have faster hiring processes than permanent roles, can come with health benefits, and gets your foot in the door to establish new professional connections that can lead to bigger opportunities. Who knows, it could even turn into a permanent position once you're onboard! Highlight Your Relevant Strengths and Quantifiable Skills to EACH job application: Seem daunting? Well, yes, it takes extra time. But it can make a significant difference in setting you apart from the competition. Hear me out on this...take the time to emphasize your strengths and skills that directly align with each job you're applying for. One of the easiest ways to do this is to review the job responsibilities listed in the job description you're applying to and methodically match them with your skills and experiences. Make sure it's spelled out under the job you did said skill in, not just your summary. Be as specific as possible with key terms (don't assume it's implied, be obvious) and quantify how much of the experience you have with them, you'll stand out! Already doing all these things and still not getting anywhere? You're not alone, it's an incredibly tough market right now. Today is November 1st, a new month, with new potential opportunities. Maybe one of them could be the one you've been waiting for. Keep your head up, you've got this! #Recruitment #ResumeTips #JobSeekerTips #JobSearchTips #ITJobSearch #JobSeeking #JobSearch #Tier4Group

Hello LinkedIn family, Its probably the first time I’m writing my thoughts on the recent job market. As a recruiter myself, I have worked in both staffing and corporate environment handling 360 recruitment process, paperwork and more. Recently, over about 3-4 months I’m trying to get a role in my field. That’s how my journey is going through so far: 1st month- Applying 15-20 jobs a day expecting to hear back from a company that can help me grow further and meet my expectations based on my previous experience. 2nd month- Getting absolutely no responses, then applying 50 jobs a day hoping to hear back from atleast some of them, still no luck. 3rd month- Again, no luck still trying my best and applying over a hundred jobs a day. Had a chat with friends and 3 of us decided to open our own staffing agency. Worked day and night for it set up everything, went door to door made thousands of calls a day to companies and employers, didn’t work out. 4th month- Still trying to work out the startup and side by side looking for a job. At this point, I got literally zero expectations, even agreeing to people giving me what I started with, again ghosted for weeks. As far in my journey, all I have been thinking everyday is how I’m having absolutely no luck finding a role even after having about 5 years of experience. If the job market is so bad, how are there so many new openings everyday and still no responses? #recruitment #opentowork #work #jobmarketinsights

Narrow Your Dream Job Search, Expand Your Strategies You’ve got a specific dream job in mind. Maybe it’s a remote leadership role in your niche industry. But despite tailoring your search, viable options aren’t appearing. As a recruiter, I can say more selective dream roles do take persistence and creativity to discover and obtain. The higher you aim and the more specific the fit, the more patience needed. Here are tips to persist strategically in your focused search: - Broaden location options. Even remote roles still have geographic preferences or time zone requirements. Expand your search across neighboring states or regions. - Consider transferable skills from adjacent industries or roles. Avoid pigeon-holing yourself into hyper-specific categories. Think through related fields and highlight broadly applicable expertise. - Optimize your resume for applicant tracking systems. Target key qualifications listed in the job descriptions. Tweak your content to include applicable keywords. - Expand your networks for inside opportunities. Leverage your connections to connect with their networks. Well-connected colleagues may know of unposted roles. - Set alerts and apply quickly when target jobs post. Be one of the first resumes in the pile before competition ramps up. - Follow and engage with recruiters at your target companies before formally applying. Build relationships and gain visibility before opportunities arise. Proactively nurture your brand. Stay open-minded on aspects like location or industry while keeping your guiding passions top of mind. The right fit for your dream job is out there. Combining determination with optimization will help you land incredible opportunities. I'm happy to help you walk through the process. How interested are recruiters in a job change through 2024 so far? Here’s some Isight into the work my team has done in the past 6 months. This graph shows the amount of conversations we've had with experienced recruiters/Executive Search people month by month in 2024. This shows that 'interest in changing jobs' is waning, and that recruiters are now happier in their jobs. Conclusions for those looking to hire experienced people: 1. It’s likely to get harder! 2. Now is the time to get going on this before 2022 levels return 3. Having an expert on your side makes it easier. - - - Thinking of changing job? 🤔 Wanting to grow your team? 📈Need some advice? 🪜 📧 on anthony@timberseed.com or ☎️ 02030305055
