CISOs are managing a lot of complexity, and while we often speak in small circles it’s infrequent we speak publicly. In today’s environment with increased threats, destabilizing global politics, more regulation and consequential outcomes across the board, it’s super important we work together. I enjoyed chatting with Edward Targett about the job, priorities, and what lies ahead for our industry.
Few people oversee #cybersecurity at quite the scale of JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Global #CISO Pat Opet. He's responsible for keeping an organisation secure that has ~$4 trillion in assets under management and over 35,000 software engineers. Pat joined The Stack's Edward Targett to talk priorities, strategy, his career and more. Pat Opet, how do you envision CISOs and cybersecurity professionals continuing to work together effectively in the future?
Great interview Pat Opet. I appreciate your willingness to be candid about the difficulty of securing the supply chain. Emerging tech will help, but it's a very hard problem.
Always have been a big fan Pat Opet Great work fighting cyber threats from front lines of the financial industry.

8moGreat interview. It's critical to emphasize that cybersecurity is a team responsibility that has to be instilled at both the highest levels (boards, execs) and within the individual teams, especially Product. It's a mindset rather than an afterthought, and to get the entire organization to that point, we need to communicate the value of our cyber efforts in a language they understand. As the global risk landscape continues to become more sophisticated, our institutions need our vigilance to stay cyber resilient. Thanks for speaking up, Pat Opet.
