🚨 Communicators/Leaders - sharing here some tips gained from my time at MyNavyHR to leverage Black History Month as a way to honor employees of that background and celebrate the organization's rich history of trailblazers. Some things you can do... 🌟 Employee Spotlights: Discovering the exceptional individuals in your organizations who proudly embrace their Black heritage. Sharing their stories, experiences, and achievements creates a sense of pride and unity within your teams. 🌟 Leadership Acknowledgments: Highlighting influential Black leaders within your organization who have made a lasting impact can be empowering. Recognizing their accomplishments not only inspires others but also underscores the strength that diverse leadership brings to your organization. 🌟 Black History Month Events: Organizing engaging virtual panels, workshops, or webinars featuring inspiring Black speakers can have an impact as well. These events provide a platform for open conversations, fostering understanding and connection in your workplace. 🌟 Service and Shared History: Take time to visit culturally significant places that exemplify Black History in your town with your team. Also, consider doing a clean-up or other restoration as a company alongside the community. I have been privileged to learn from and serve with so many great Black leaders. Let this month be a time of listening, learning, and celebrating.

Sr. Director of Business Development at Hargrove Engineers + Constructors | Author (Cracks in the Wall) | Motivational/Inspirational Speaker
Breaking Walls – Building Legacy…what a powerful message to latch on to for 2024 and beyond! “Thank you” Integra LifeSciences and Black Employees United at Integra for Leadership and Development (B.U.I.L.D) for having me as your 2024 keynote speaker! It was another life-altering #BlackHistoryMonth event that focused squarely on this year’s theme and my book Cracks in the Wall by Ronnie Stallworth www.cracksinthewall.net. READ THIS ALL-POSITIVE APPROACH! My message was primarily about Breaking “internal/self-erected” walls that prevent us from reaching our next level of growth (read that again). My biggest walls were internal!! For example, I was born into poverty; however, I found ways to Break Walls (with the help of others in many cases) by focusing internally on things that I had control over. For Building Legacy, I focused on personal and purposeful actions that any of us can do to be remembered as someone who left our family and others “set up for success” (not saddled with generational debt). For example, my dad left me with a lot of his wisdom; however, he didn’t have life insurance, a Will, or appreciable monetary inheritance. I can personally leave a legacy for my family and others if I didn't do anything beyond these four things (including sharing my wisdom). All four are “my responsibility” and things I can do by focusing internally on what I have control over. Don’t misunderstand me, external factors and biases ARE real; however, by focusing internally "first", we can mitigate the impact of many external factors on our lives! My alternative was, spending a lifetime focusing on things that I had little or no control over! Remember, focus internally FIRST! #breakingwalls #buildinglegacy #hiddengems #gemseekers #cracksinthewall
In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, Integra’s employee resource group formally unveiled their new name of Black Employees United at Integra for Leadership and Development (B.U.I.L.D). This new name has special significance and coincides with this year’s theme of ‘Breaking Walls, Building Legacy’. Thank you to everyone who participated in our event to help celebrate and learn about the advances of African Americans who were able to help BUILD a legacy for themselves and all Black Americans. A very special thank you to our guest speaker, Ronnie Stallworth, Sr. who shared his personal and poignant journey and challenged us as professionals to do more to make a difference and BUILD despite the cracks in the walls around us. #Integrainspired

One of the missions of the Black Leadership Group is to empower Black talent. During our initial launch of the Black Leadership Job Board, Robin Landman OBE CCMI, discussed that organisations can seem reluctant to seek out Black talent even though there is no shortage of it. Organisations need to remember that Black individuals don’t want to be the only person in a leadership team, they need to remember that Black individuals don’t want to be the sole representation in a leadership team; they need assurance that their selection is based on merit, not just diversity quotas.

Turn a normal conversation into a meaningful one • what is your legacy? 🎙• 2x Salesforce Top Sales Influencer
What a great way to kick-off Black History Month in the 🇬🇧 Networking at UK Black Business Show in London, Where there's an abundance of inspiration, motivation, and ambition, I'm here to celebrate the excellence and experiences brought to organizations, community, and each other. The keynote speech by Lamar Tyler focused on 3 practical aspects to build a business & use digital marketing strategies: 1. Get more leads: - build organically through social channels - "borrow" by giving value in existing community / network - buy (ads) and know your customer acquisition costs 2. Get more sales (and service): - more customers - more money per order - more frequent visits 3. Your Team: - hire & select your leaders early - fire faster - be determined #sales #enablement #business #ukbbshow
