Director of Global IT at Opera

I’m proud of all the amazing things my team accomplishes every day. This time, however, it’s something very special. When we started the project of building an AI cluster for Opera last year, we knew it would be exciting. Little did we know back then that we’d build the 88th most performant supercomputer in the world (according to the HPL TOP 500 ranking - https://lnkd.in/du8RkF9T). And that’s a feat we’re very proud of! This project proved once more that with the right team of passionate colleagues and partners, anything is possible! I’d like to deliver a special thank you to all the amazing people who gave their very best over many months to make this happen. To the Opera Global IT team, for bravely jumping on board with our most ambitious DC deployment yet!  Katarzyna Różycka Jakub Jaszewski Marcin Adamski Damian Bulira Adam Loba Dominik Gorący Franciszek Przewoźny Franciszek Klajn Michal Grygar Konrad Tumulec Gbenga Ogunniran To multiple people across the whole Opera organization who supported us on every step! Lin Song Frode Jacobsen Krystian Zubel Joakim Kasbohm Aaron McParlan Kasia Bauer Mateusz Trachimowicz Julia Szyndzielorz Jan Standal To the #NVIDIA team, for a great journey from “Our goal is…” to “It’s alive!”  Danylo Prokhorenko Mark Hammarstedt Aleks Polak Robby van Roosmalen Carlo Ruiz Tim Shockley Rob Ord (and so many more!) To Nextron, PNY Technologies, and DDN Storage, for being true partners we could always count on, especially when  Murphy’s law struck :) Lasse Sandstone Barbalat Lionel To atNorth, for being a flexible and trustworthy partner, taking good care of our SuperPOD now and in the future, and for showing us that Iceland is a hospitable place despite volcanoes erupting in the neighborhood! Ægir Rafn Magnússon Thank you all. It’s been a privilege! You can also read a bit more about it on our blog here: https://lnkd.in/dTKuaKBu

hi, Opera I'm trying out the VPN feature on the browser. For me, it would be great if the VPN could be selectable for each individual tab, as opposed to all open tabs. Another functionality I'd love to have is one where I could simply change my base location to navigate the web. Again, selectable of each individual tabs. I need to access search results and websites located in different countries around the world, having a selectable base location makes it much easier for me to navigate the web more locally to where I want and need to be, as opposed to where I really am located. #openfeedback
