The industry lost a true legend over the weekend, Chef James Kent. Chef James was a force within the NYC restaurant community, whose passion, creativity – and notably, the hospitality he showed the world and his team – will leave a lasting legacy. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and his team.

It is our constant focus to provide a positive experience for everyone who comes through our doors, guests and employees alike. As Katie mentions, hospitality represents the first job for so many people and it is on us to create a culture that puts people first, regardless of what side of the table they are on. https://lnkd.in/eKFAMAtt

🍴 A Dash of History: The Birth of the Brigade System 🍽️ Ever wonder how restaurant kitchens operate so smoothly under pressure? Thank the Brigade System, a revolutionary kitchen organization method devised by the legendary French chef Georges Auguste Escoffier in the early 20th century. This system divides the kitchen into specialized stations or "brigades," each led by a station chef, ensuring efficiency, speed, and culinary excellence. 🔥 Culinary Efficiency Redefined - From the saucier to the patissier, each member plays a crucial role, akin to a well-oiled machine. 👨🍳 Legacy of a Legend - Escoffier's innovation transformed chaotic kitchens into orchestras of gastronomy, influencing how restaurants operate worldwide to this day. This slice of culinary history not only highlights the importance of teamwork but also the enduring impact of a single visionary on the global dining experience. #CulinaryHistory #BrigadeSystem #EscoffierLegacy #KitchenInnovation

Do chefs or restaurants get The MICHELIN Guide stars? Do Michelin stars transfer with chefs to new restaurants if they leave, and do restaurants lose stars if a new chef takes over? They're all valid questions and there's often confusion over the right answers.

Customer-centric Marketing | Brand Strategy | Strategic Brand Partnerships | 3x HGTV ‘Rock the Block’ Winner
In his (must read) book 'Never Eat Alone', Executive Team Coach and Bestselling Author Keith Ferrazzi unveils his notorious networking skills and shows a refreshing perspective about meaningful connections based on value creation. A few points of the book that stood out to me: - Success in Life = (The people you meet) + (What you create together) - When connecting with people, always lead with generosity. What can you genuinely offer to them that will make their lives better? Reciprocity is a natural outturn. - Pay attention to the super-connectors. They are people with innate abilities to be open, extra attentive, and immediately connect someone they met to other people they see purpose and fit. Jayme Sherwood, CFSP is one of these super-connectors. I met her by chance at the 2021 KBIS, and since day one she gobsmacked me with her generosity in connecting me with other business or personal contacts who later impacted my life positively, always with an uplifting mood and authenticity. Like Mr. Ferrazzi, we also love connecting around food! ;-) How about you? Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, always a singular experience. Jayme - merci, ma belle! #connectionsthatmatter #nevereatalone #networking #friendship #branding #partnerships #relationshipmarketing

To ignite inspiration and foster unity within the kitchen team, particularly among the chefs, it’s imperative to infuse purpose into their culinary journey. Begin by cultivating a shared narrative that celebrates the artistry of gastronomy and the pivotal role each chef plays in crafting memorable dining experiences. Leading by example, demonstrate an unwavering commitment to culinary excellence, emphasizing that their creativity and dedication are the driving forces behind the kitchen’s success. Encourage a culture of collaboration, where the exchange of ideas flows freely, fostering an environment where innovation thrives. Finally, empower and recognize each team member’s unique talents, granting them the confidence to push boundaries, ultimately transforming a group of chefs into a harmonious, inspired culinary ensemble. - Chef Hoshang Debta(30/09/2023) #team #teamwork #chefs #chefatwork #togetherforward Imperfecto Restaurants (Unit of Bel Cibo Hospitality)
