SAML authentication components and its working. SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) authentication involves three main components: 1. **Identity Provider (IdP):** - The IdP is responsible for authenticating users and providing identity information. - It produces SAML assertions containing user identity details and signs them. - Common IdPs include Okta, ADFS, and Shibboleth. 2. **Service Provider (SP):** - The SP is the application or service that users want to access. - It relies on the SAML assertions from the IdP to grant access. - Examples of SPs include Salesforce, Google Apps, or a custom application. 3. **User:** - The end-user who wants to access a service. **Working Explanation:** 1. **Initiation:** - The user initiates the authentication process by accessing the SP. - The SP generates a SAML authentication request and redirects the user to the IdP. 2. **Authentication at IdP:** - The IdP authenticates the user using its own mechanisms (e.g., username/password, multi-factor authentication). - Once authenticated, the IdP generates a SAML assertion containing information about the user. 3. **SAML Assertion:** - The SAML assertion includes details like user ID, roles, and a digital signature to ensure integrity. - This assertion is sent back to the user's browser. 4. **User Redirects to SP:** - The user's browser is redirected back to the SP with the SAML assertion. 5. **SP Verification:** - The SP verifies the digital signature on the SAML assertion using the IdP's public key. - If the signature is valid, the SP trusts the assertion and establishes the user's identity. 6. **User Access Granted:** - The SP grants access to the requested resource or service based on the verified SAML assertion. As the Managing Director of IT NEAR U LIMITED, and an official Microsoft Business Partner, I must insist on the following: Client Relationships: We are the authorized Reseller and strategic consultant for our clients. We have brought this business to Microsoft, and direct contact with our clients is inappropriate and unprofessional. Microsoft Partner Number Search: Please immediately verify our relationship by searching for my Microsoft Partner Number associated with IT NEAR U LIMITED. All communications with our clients must cease immediately. Ethical Concerns: Your actions in contacting our clients directly have caused significant confusion and concern. They SAY you're 60% more likely to get hired. They may not be collecting your data, but someone else is, and there is no law against PURCHASING data from someone else who collects it. #digitalidentity This is where the #UK comes in.
