I know I am always talking about webinars and promoting benefits - I am sure lot's of you have had conversations with me about this! This article really outlines why it's important to talk about benefits to employees, employers can always utilise us to help with this to make communications easy. Whilst this article by Rus Waygood talks about one demographic of employees it really brings to the forefront the variety of reasons employees find benefits so important and makes me think about what we can do to make sure everyone is aware of the support and benefits available. If anyone would like a chat about employee communications do let me know! https://lnkd.in/e885dcbP

Do you need a permission slip not to work again this weekend? I'm handing them out. If client work can't get done in August unless you're working weekends, you don't have a commitment problem. Your firm has a business problem. We can talk about solutions to get us through year-end later... Recharge this weekend. Your clients and colleagues will get better work next week. Too outrageous? Take a modified permission slip for one work session not to exceed two hours. 😜 #Q4Preseason is my daily 8-week series showcasing best practices of high-performing employee benefits brokerage teams preparing for Q4, the “busier” season. #employeebenefits #benefits #insurancebrokers #womenininsurance

We've been nurturing relationships with carrier and broker/consultant professionals for over two decades. As a result we can give you access to the best, passive candidates to give you an edge over your competitors.
If someone is doing the work of 1.5 to 2 people, you need to hire more people. If margins are too thin to do that, you need to charge clients more. If clients don't have the money for that, work harder to save on their claims costs. If the group is too small to self fund and to look at DPC, surgery centers, narrow networks, etc., look at a captives/consortiums. There is plenty of money in this industry if it's spent properly. Don't burn people out, play the long game.

An interesting post regarding the theory that a 4-day work week can improve outcomes for staff AND stakeholders... Halfway down the article we get to understand that "Since January, sickness rates have fallen by a third, staff turnover has reduced by 36%, and complaints about services are down," Do you think that Government should have the power to stop local government experimenting in this kind of way? If your organisation has tried similar interventions, what have your outcomes shown? https://lnkd.in/egG-N9ef

Yet another regressive, shotgun opinion from this government… 🙄 4 day week trials have consistently shown: Cost efficiencies ✅ Easier hiring with wider recruitment pools ✅ Improved employee engagement ✅ Unaffected, even improved, performance ✅ We haven’t seen: A negative impact on public services ❌ A negative impact on employers “value for money” ❌ Movements like this one brought us the modern weekend. They reduced working hours for people in labour intensive jobs. Allowed for the Saturday and Sunday recreation and sports that now seem so normal. Like anything, there isn’t a one-size fits all approach to making this work, but the majority of organisations from the trials want to continue 🤷♀️ Shouldn’t it be up to business and department leaders to make these decisions? 🤔 Instead of an over-reaching government dictating what we can and can’t do with very little evidence? 🤦♀️ What are they afraid of? Employees want to work for companies that provide them with some level of autonomy. They want to know their employers trust them to make sound decisions about working, including when to not work by taking time off to rest and restore energy. Plus, when it comes to unlimited paid time off, we hear this: "More than two-thirds of the companies that rolled out the policy said that the amount of time staff took didn't change." Some employees even take less than they did under the old policy. This human capital-centric approach to time off/vacation days is essential to the #FutureOfWork. Stela Lupushor and I discuss just how important it is to treat employees like partners in the company. This develops trust, and as the article confirms, when companies "do good" for their employees, they "do well" financially. Your employees matter! #HumanizingHumanCapital #HumanResources #UnlimitedPTO #ManagingTheFutureOfWork Jo Constantz for Bloomberg

Local authorities are best placed to know what local people want and need. If Cambridgeshire council can prove the benefits of the four day working week, along with Gordon Brown's report on local government decision making why has this become a focus for Government? #localgovernment #peoplematter https://lnkd.in/eENx7gvs
