Many people are currently applying for their 1st job and very exciting times starting your career. How do you make your profile stand out? What does your profile / application look like to the person reviewing? Does the profiles look like you have just randomly applied or is there a real motivation / interest in the position? My advice take your time on each application, review the application and consider what are you applying for.

I suggest not including your age or any detail about your non-IT career work. Sum your prior career all up in one pitch sentence. Your IT CV needs to focus on your IT qualifications, relevant roles working in IT, and skills. Even if you haven't worked in an IT field before, concentrate on your biggest IT assignment, how you broke the problem down, delivered to the solution, the sort of issues encountered, and how you solved the issues. This is all highly relevant to working in IT. Your skills, patience, and persistence learned from a previous career should shine though.

Most people only apply for jobs they’re qualified for. 🤐 When you’re looking for a new job - really vet the day-to-day role and skills required for the position. If you’re an expert in 100% of the skills and qualifications needed, you won’t be challenged or grow in this role. Instead, look for positions you’re *mostly* qualified for but want to learn the other skills needed. Grow with your role.
