We started Wanta Thome PLC last year to advocate for workplace fairness. One of the first (and most) important things we did was set our core values. We established five key principles that have become our blueprint for excellence: 1. Teamwork to lift each other up 2. Impactful agility, aiming to make a difference within our firm and community 3. Radical candor to give honest feedback while showing genuine care 4. Results-driven: We focus on results rather than work 5. Relentless excellence in redefining service standards This might seem irrelevant, but to me, it meant the first step towards establishing our culture. They’re not hollow words: we hire, reward, and promote based on our values. We are employment law attorneys, so building a workplace people love is important. We see how things quickly can go wrong in workplaces and the tremendous damage that a toxic work environment can cause. So far, these principles have guided our day-to-day operations, hiring process, and how we serve our clients. Our resilient firm culture allows us to channel our efforts towards our clients, rather than internal issues. Given the nature of our service, we wanted to make our clients feel cared for and understood. We just entered our second year in business, and these principles are still as important as day one!
