BRAND NEW TECHNOLOGY Today's and recent years' technology employed onboard superyachts has advanced significantly. This will continue this year, strengthening and enriching the yacht experience. Smart yachts will be the standard in terms of everyday technology, enhancing efficiency and the aboard experience. We have already witnessed the emergence of paperless yachts with charts, as well as an increase in the use of cloud-based technologies. In terms of other yachting 2023 technologies, the role of AI is gaining traction across the sector, particularly through advancements in design and navigational technology. Along with AI, virtual reality (VR) is gaining traction in the sector, with applications including boat design and onboard entertainment. This year will see even more creative onboard entertainment systems, allowing for a more immersive yachting experience.

In order for AR second screen adoption to succeed, we will need to improve both the push and pull of content. PULL: Content must elevate the viewing experience and provide added value the consumer wants. Displaying extraneous screens, UI, and stats/data that are irrelevant or add clutter in the users eyes will only act as a barrier for adoption. PUSH: Content providers will need to figure out how to monetize the second screen experience. Given the substantial costs involved in creating such experiences, a compelling financial incentive is necessary to encourage their expansion into the space.
