Topic of the day.... onboarding! Having recently gone through this myself- I thought I'd reflect on this critical aspect of someone starting a new role- as a really important part of the overall employee experience. It's the first step in setting up new employees for success, and creating an environment that allows them to be successful- critical to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible. 1. Start by creating a welcoming environment and setting expectations. 🗒 2. Be sure to provide all the necessary information your new colleague needs to get up to speed quickly, such as company policies, procedures, and culture. 3. Look at having a mentor or buddy system in place for new hires to help them get up to speed and adjust to the new work environment. 🤝 4. Finally, don't forget to check in regularly with new hires to ensure they have the support they need. As they say, we only get one chance at a first impression. Make it count!
