We crushed it. Literally 😎 What happens when two electric vehicles have a front-on collision? Showdown at the crash center in Sindelfingen, Germany. During the test in the Mercedes-Benz technology center for vehicle safety, an EQA and an EQS SUV, each traveling at 35/mph, collide. The result of the crash test is impressive: the crumple zones of both cars are deformed, the safety passenger compartment cells remain intact and the restraint systems have done their job. And how would the occupants feel after such a crash? After evaluating up to 150 measuring points per crash dummy, the result was that the biomechanical limit values were complied with for all four. For the passengers, this means a high chance of survival. It may seem frightening at first glance when the vehicles are destroyed. But it is precisely this deformation of the cars that absorbs the energy from the impact and allows the safety passenger cell to remain intact.  We have always striven to build the safest cars in the world. More than 60 years ago, Mercedes-Benz carried out the first crash test in Sindelfingen. Watch the full video for more on our first-in-class safety standards.

First we determined the most suitable wheel diameter for our project, and then we calculated how many wheels can fit on the frame that would have the usual dimensions of an ATV or snowmobile - the optimal number was 18. 2) Why not use tracks?   Any vehicles with tracks violates our whole concept, as they greatly increase unsprung weight, reduce the efficiency of engines, and reduce speed. In our initial demo video, the rover looks strange, clumsy, having a very "yawing" nose. That was the first prototype, built only to test our main hypothesis and conduct several tests. In the new pre-production version, the suspension is radically redesigned. An all-wheel steering system has been added in addition to the "tank" turning system, making it extremely maneuverable.
