Our sessions are designed to be interactive, encouraging attendees to engage deeply with the content and with each other, fostering a dynamic learning environment. 𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Our goal is to strengthen and expand connections within the STEM education community. By creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and shared learning, we seek to build a stronger, more interconnected community of STEM educators and professionals. In the ever-evolving world of STEM, a movement is growing to break down stereotypes and encourage more girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Despite exhibiting similar early performance in math and science, girls or individuals identifying with girlhood or as female often lose interest in these subjects by middle school due to societal norms, according to the National Girls Collaborative Project. At Camps for Curious Minds, our girl-focused summer camps aim to empower girls to confidently explore and enjoy STEM fields, challenging stereotypes and fostering enthusiasm. Extending the successful '100Kin10' work led by Talia Milgrom-Elcott, Beyond100K unites leading organizations to co-develop and implement solutions that will end the STEM teacher shortage by 2043, especially for those most excluded from STEM opportunities. Beyond100K recently engaged 600 young people, who shared their STEM stories. "They told us that when they felt excluded from STEM, they put aside their STEM dreams. When they belonged, their natural curiosity for STEM could take hold, and they pursued and persisted in STEM through college and beyond. Teachers create classrooms of belonging." What's the point in volunteering with STEM Ambassadors? In 2022/23 tens of thousands of you delivered 250,000 hours of volunteering (that's over 28 years' worth of volunteering 😅!) and educators told STEM Learning UK that you helped to: * Improve understanding of STEM careers. * Broaden student horizons. * Amplify interest and enthusiasm in STEM. * Increase engagement with STEM enrichment.
