Few people create their own programming language, but everyone should. Read how it 100x'd our productivity at Collage.com.
I love that you called out that the business needs need to be very well understood from the get-go. My first thought was that everything needs to be scoped out from the planning stage in a very detailed way, and I wonder how that might work for companies that are still evolving their business models or practices. Instead of needing to change or update syntax it could require having to change the language at a fundamental level which I would imagine could potentially wreak havoc on existing implementations. I can see how, if you get it right though, it could supercharge your productivity! Great article.
It's an interesting thought. Whats your view on AI driven coding assistants like Github CoPilot? Will it tilt the equation in favor of popular industry standard languages like python or java?
That's fascinating! 🌟 Creating your own programming language must have been quite the journey. Could you share some key insights or challenges you faced during the development process? 😊😊
Great read, love how you think about taking engineering productivity to O(n) -> O(1). Creating my own programming language was one of my favorite projects we did in University. I created a lisp inspired language that no one on earth should ever use - but it was good fun.
As someone that has created a few languages at different times in my career, I couldn't agree more 👏👏 great article
Very informative
