Such a meaningful cause to me personally.
I have a thyroid condition called Hashimoto's, my mom had her thyroid removed due to a carcinoma. Thank God she is perfectly fine, recovered and supplementing where its needed.
Alright, but... let's go back to definitions:
What is the Thyroid Gland?
The Thyroid Gland is a soft, small bow-shaped gland, located in the front of the neck, below the voice box or larynx (Adam’s Apple) on either side of the trachea (windpipe).
The Role of the Thyroid Gland
The healthy Thyroid Gland uses ingested iodine from iodine enriched foods to produce thyroid hormone which regulates body and brain growth and development, body temperature, energy levels and metabolic functions. (the rate at which the body produces and uses energy from nutrients and oxygen). Thyroid hormones influence and regulate the activity of all cells and tissues in the body.
So, I think you agree with me, it is a very important part of your body!

4moAmen to this post! My grandpa had colon cancer in his 60s, had surgery to eradicate it, and was reasonably active with a colostomy bag until it came back when he was 84. An ounce of prevention would have increased his quality of life.
