Star Wars was probably one of the movies that 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭. It was revolutionary for its time. It literally changed the movie industry forever and signed the boom of sci-fi. The first movie was released the year I was born, 1977. Can you believe it? Can you believe those special effects were made when computers didn't even have graphic cards? The Commodore had 4/8 KB memory. They wouldn't allow you to upload even the tiniest avatar on the computer as there wouldn't be enough space to store it. It always amazed me how they could creatively come to solutions to make the movies innovative, and so far from the general special effects of their time. It literally changed the aesthetics of the time. And on top of that, there is the storytelling part. "𝘐𝘯 𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘹𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺". They just hooked an entire generation into the story in the first 60 seconds of the movie! Every single time. So yeah, I wish you all "𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 4𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮!" as a reminder that even if the times are not right, that doesn't mean you cannot bring innovation in your field. Continuing to work on my new prototype tonight! I'm not really sure how I'm feeling about the movement controls - I think they're fun, but I feel like other people may find them less fun. It's a top-down space ship piloting game, the mouse controls the ship's facing while WASD controls movement. However moving in a direction the ship isn't facing lowers your speed. For maximum speed you need to point the cursor in the same direction you're moving. I'm planning to create a few different ship styles that can be used to offset the issues and enable different playstyles. *Standard ship - Focused on fast forward movement. *Sidewinder ship - Slightly slower than the standard ship but capable of moving sideways almost as quickly as forward. *Omni-directional ship - Noticeably slower than other ships, but capable of equal movement speeds in all directions. I'd be curious to hear other people's off-the-cuff thoughts or questions about it?

I had the opportunity to contribute my software engineering experience to a community made map in Halo Infinite. I created the "Spitfire", a self-made variant of the rocket launcher. Using the Halo Infinite Forge Node Graph editor, I was able to reliably capture a reference to the rocket a player fires and adjust its trajectory and behavior through some state management and vector math. My Adventure in a Galaxy Far, Far Away: A Star Wars-Themed Hackathon🌌🛰️ I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a Star Wars-themed hackathon, and it was an experience that felt straight out of a galaxy far, far away! 🚀✨ The Challenge: The theme of the hackathon was, of course, Star Wars, and teams were tasked with creating innovative projects inspired by this iconic universe. From droids to lightsabers, the possibilities were endless, and the Force was strong with every participant. Our Project: A Star Wars Trivia Quiz Game Our team decided to dive into the rich lore and trivia of Star Wars by creating an engaging trivia quiz game. The goal was to test players' knowledge of the Star Wars universe, from well-known facts to obscure details that only true fans would know. Tech Stack and Development: We built our game using a combination of front-end and back-end technologies: Front-End: We used HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS and JavaScript to create an interactive and visually appealing user interface. The design was inspired by the classic Star Wars aesthetics, complete with a starry background and themed elements. Back-End: For the back-end, we utilized Django and Python to handle the server-side logic. Our trivia questions were stored in a database, and we used RESTful APIs to fetch and display them to the players. Challenges and Achievements: Like any project, we faced our fair share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was ensuring that the trivia questions were both challenging and fun. We wanted to cater to all levels of Star Wars fans, from casual viewers to hardcore enthusiasts. Despite these challenges, we managed to create a game that was both entertaining and educational. Seeing players enjoy our game and compete for the highest scores was incredibly rewarding. The Star Wars Experience: The organizers did an amazing job of incorporating the Star Wars theme into every aspect of the event. From themed decorations to music and even some participants in cosplay, the atmosphere was truly immersive. It felt like being at a Star Wars convention while working on a hackathon project! Memorable Moments: One of the highlights of the hackathon was our teams presentation of our website. Hearing of fellow participants get excited about answering the questions and competing against each other was a moment of pride for all teams involved. Conclusion: Participating in this Star Wars-themed hackathon was a fantastic experience. Not only did we get to work on a fun and challenging project, but we also had the chance to connect with other Star Wars fans and tech enthusiasts. It was a perfect blend of creativity, technology, and fandom. I thoroughly enjoyed working with a fantastic team which was both educational and fun!!
