I am honored and excited to share 📣 ..... ...that today, I scratched off that annoying (yet needed) task from my to-do list. So many times on this platform, we see people celebrating the big milestones in their careers: a major breakthrough, a new product launch, the newest TV spot, a promotion, or a new career move. Don’t get me wrong, these are all worth celebrating. But what about celebrating the little wins? -Finding a solution to a problem -Wrapping up a presentation -Garnering cross-functional alignment -Getting through emails - So. many. emails! I don’t know about you, but taking the time each day to acknowledge that I'm making meaningful progress on my way to the big milestones, makes each day that much more engaging and satisfying. What will you take the time to celebrate today 🎉 ? Let’s hear it for meaningful progress!

I recently made a mistake when celebrating a great month in our company.  We blew away our goal and I wanted to recognize our team. Instead of just congratulating our team for their great accomplishment, I threw in the dreaded "but" at the end of it. "but, next month will most likely be much different." There was no need for me to do this.  I intended to shield them from a possible letdown the following month since we always have a strong January. The "but" was not necessary at that time (and probably not at all). Celebrate your wins.  Recognize the success of your team - the other stuff can wait. A well-informed team already knows of the challenges that may lie ahead and is prepared to handle them. Let celebrating your wins stand on its own.  Do not dilute what your team accomplished. Interestingly, February came and they beat our target for that month as well.....and did it again in March.

Wow! July was a big Ryan milestone month for me: I celebrated my one year anniversary at Ryan, participated in my first Ryan Shares Day with my fellow Dallas Ryan co-workers at Feed My Starving Children, and wrapped it up with my first Ryan break where I took my kids to see beautiful Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons. Plus, today I celebrate six months as Chief People Officer! This year has been fast and furious, full of ups and downs. During our overview session at FMSC, they discussed that while most kids dream of their future jobs or career, the children they serve just want to know where their next meal is going to come from and don’t have the luxury of dreaming that far into the future. During the event, the person next to me asked if I dreamed of being CPO. I laughed - but it was a humbling moment. The short answer is no. My dad always told me work hard and do your thing, don’t worry about the what other people get, you will show your value. (Note: I learned from a boss later it’s okay to share your success too). I worked my tail off to get here but I never could have done it without amazing, intelligent and driven people around me. I am driven by competition (a true Ryan trait) and if I don’t know something I will learn it. Last week I was on a call and someone called me a quick study on things. I’m curious about it all - I want to know, I want to help, I want to grow but more than than just me I want everyone else around me to do the same. If you have worked with me even a little bit you probably have noticed that I like to go on tangents about why laws were written or why companies do things a certain way or what companies have the best this or that. Thank you all for listening, encouraging me, teaching me and even more so for those who gave me the confidence to turn my nerdy ways into a profession where my goal is pass on the knowledge and create opportunities. Remember we all have been given powers, ask yourself regularly: “Did I use my powers for good today?” And if you have given your all, find your joy - sometimes mine comes in the form of a warm, straight from the oven, chocolate chip cookie :).

2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting. These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey: 11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit. Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now. 02.2016 Product Designer After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success. Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it. 01.2017 Brand Manager My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further. Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself. 01.2019 Senior Brand Manager I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas. Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness. 03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time) 05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience. 07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step. Learning (all of the above) - My team lead saw my strength & potential - I spoke up for myself & addressed my need - I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role - I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video

Christmas means different things to different people. For some, it is just another day, no different from any other day; for others, it is significant, offering a time to connect and reflect. It can be a joyous, celebratory time but also a sad and challenging time for some. Much pressure is placed on Christmas, with many expectations overcoming us and others, which can sometimes take away from the opportunities this period can present. For those taking time off and resting over this period, consider stopping and connecting to how you’re feeling at the end of the year, asking, is this working? We can draw on team coaching skills during this time, whether it is celebrating successes, actively listening to ourselves and those around us, showing leadership in our self-care, establishing goals for the new year, or working through conflict that may arise. It may seem like work, but a little reflection can go a long way in building sustainable and meaningful growth. So, no matter what Christmas means to you, we hope you find space to stop and take stock, appreciating the many aspects of you and your life and consider the things that you can enrich. Although some things might need to go, it’s equally important to confirm all that can and should stay.
