My 3 year old daughter said f*ck twice yesterday... 🤦🏼♂️ My wife was a little surprised... And I wish my response could have been..."OMG...where did she learn that?" 🤷🏼♀️ Except both times she repeatedly directly after me... A solid reminder that I need to clean my f*cking sh*t up... 😂 ☝🏼I am immediately working on that On a bigger level it reminded me of something I learned a few years ago… You’re an average of the 5 people you spend the most time with (many have said it but they credit Jim Rohn with this one...) It's like damn...that sh*t is real... am I getting around ppl that are expanding how I think...supporting where I want to go? If you’re looking to consistently win on BOR you have to stop hanging around with quoters. Quoters will poison your mind...give you excuses why you can't BOR...start to talk you out of it...even worse get you to believe its not possible to consistently BOR. That’s a wrap! Today brings an end to my working career and time with L&C Waverton as I move into retirement. It’s been a blast!From moving after 8 years in branch banking into Insurance with Commercial Union in 1997, I’ve not looked back. A special mention to those that have more than helped me along the way. Linda Wallace who got me on the BDM ladder in 2000 and Terry Hancock who assigned me my first permanent patch in Stoke, Staffordshire and South Cheshire in 2001. That really was a great grounding for life as a BDM. Surviving through the mergers with General Accident to form CGU, and Norwich Union (now Aviva), moving to AXA, then to HSBC life and the open architecture onshore bond - I was the BDM for the whole of the North including Scotland and NI when I started…. I was on a plane almost every week. Moving to Premier Asset Management and into the world of funds really changed everything - what a ride! But of greatest mention has to go to Waverton and to John Bellamy and Mark Barrington for taking a chance on me in November 2017 as we looked to build IFA relationships in the North of England. Nobody had heard of Waverton and that was a tough 2.5 years… then Covid happened and the role of the BDM changed forever with more and more activity going online, lockdowns and a general malaise around not wanting to travel…. But we somehow built huge momentum with many new supporters and achieved record inflows in 2022. I certainly feel proud to be leaving my panel in a great position for the next person following me. As I look back I’ve certainly crammed lots into that 25 years as a BDM and covered lots of ground, mainly by road. But what makes the BDM job are the people. I have to thank the investment teams both here at Waverton and previously at Premier for their performance and supporting me in the field and more recently with online sessions/webinars etc… I couldn’t do the job without you and I know my adviser firms appreciated the regular communications and the investment stories. The sales teams I’ve worked with over the years for the banter and friendships - I’ve worked remotely since 2007 and it can be quite a lonely place when you are 200 miles from head office. So keep those communications going as a team and look out for your more remote colleagues along the way…but lastly and by no means least the adviser connections I have built up over the years who have supported me (and the propositions I’ve promoted)… I’m eternally grateful and lucky to have built so many strong connections… and friendships along the way… But now for the next chapter for me and Mrs P - leisure time and travel (and no work)…. Monday will be a strange feeling I’m sure…I wish all my contacts and especially my friends at Waverton all the very best for the future with the new venture with L&C and hopefully onto the next level… one piece of advice ‘’Deliver on what you say you are going to do’’ and you won’t go far wrong… adios amigos and farewell for now (drop the mic!!)

Had a fantastic few days in Sydney! Spent quality time with our sports-loving team, watching the Matildas and enjoying the Blues vs. Pies match at the pub. We even convinced the pub to switch the big screen from rugby to AFL. Go Blues! During our visit, we also connected with new clients from Sydney and learned more about their thriving businesses. Additionally, we managed to fit in face-to-face meetings with six Private Equity Funds to discuss their interests, mandates, and introduce our newest team member, Michael Vincent. Among the funds, we noticed a recurring interest in sectors like Professional Services, Insurance Services, Essential Services, Facility Maintenance, Health, and Education. Over the next 6 to 12 months, we plan to engage with more businesses in these areas. Currently, we represent three different companies in these industries, and we extend an invitation to other business owners who want to understand what acquirers are thinking about their industry. One aspect that truly impressed us during our meetings with the PE professionals was their remarkable work ethic. Their dedication and extensive preparation to be in a position to intelligently discuss our potential deals were outstanding. It's no surprise they manage funds ranging from hundreds to billions of dollars $$$. Talking to The Insurer TV, Marra said RenRe is “really optimistic” about the opportunities it expects to see at the end of the year, after what has been a step-change for reinsurers in 2023 characterised by a hard market in property cat and significant improvements in casualty and specialty classes too. “And that’s part of why the Validus acquisition has such great timing – we’re able to accelerate our access to that business.
