You can learn more about our studio and values at In collaboration with Lucasfilm, the Star Wars FPS Team is developing a new AAA FPS in the Star Wars galaxy. Inspired by classic titles like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, our story-driven single player game is being developed from the ground up leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5. We're combining this inspiration and technology with Respawn's pedigree for making best-in-class shooters to deliver a brand new experience our players will love. We are recruiting for a Principal UX Designer to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is an expert in their craft, and carries a high standard wherever they go. They are in-tune with and constantly thinking about good UX within games. They have a great sense for the proper presentation of information in interfaces. They are eager to work closely and collaborate with others, including those outside of their discipline. They are a self-starter, smart, resourceful, and able to execute on tasks consistently throughout the project. They can think comprehensively, and are able to problem-solve with all of the connective tissue in mind as they break down specific player flows and use cases. They are consistently analyzing existing flows once they are up and running, solving problematic patterns and identifying quality of life improvements throughout development. And lastly, they are humble enough to read through these requirements and identify areas of self improvement where they want to grow. What you'll do: Meet with designers to understand gameplay and feature needs. Create wireframes and maintain our UX library (We like to use Figma). Frequently review with the UX/UI Lead for brainstorming, discussing strategies and approaches. Review your designs with the rest of the UI team during open critique. Present your wireframes to game designers and iterate toward first implementation designs. Review "gray box" implementation to near-final implementation and help iterate towards polished experiences. Own overall menu and screen flow. Leverage knowledge for current accessibility practices as well as innovations we may be able to offer.
