Netflix is looking for someone with a ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜ of experience in producing games of different scales (from prototype to live ops). The successful candidate will have deep expertise in the process of making games (both academic and practical), where to optimize for learning and when to optimize for execution, and in general be a strong advocate for the product, the teams, and for player value. What we're looking for: ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฒ: A robust game-making toolbox (processes and experiences) with multiple game cycles under your belt, both internally developed and co-developed. ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ: Strong leadership skills with both direct and indirect authority, manifesting in the ability to build and execute programs to test out concepts and creative ideas. ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐˜†: Deep understanding of gamers and team dynamics. You should be someone who really loves games. ๐—–๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†: Proven ability to turn ambiguity into clear, actionable plans. ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜: Experience in managing stakeholders, providing visibility and and building alignment among senior leaders. ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐˜€๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐˜€:  Clear and concise communication, especially through memes and corporate buzzwords (j/k) This person will be accountable for a really broad range of product- and production-support initiatives, including (as an example) sourcing and setting up co-dev relationships, and helping to convert creative vision into player value. They should be very comfortable with ambiguity, yet be strong in carving a path to victory through that ambiguity on behalf of our teams. They should have strong frameworks to prioritize their work (and the work they ask their partners to do), and a proven ability to manifest change for their products or teams. I have 20+ years of game experience in game production, as a developer, a publisher, and a licensor. I've lead small teams and large ones. Worked on big games and very little ones. And I feel that I'm a very empathetic leader (happy to provide references :-)). And I'm fairly recently available. I've submitted my resume and hope to hear back!
