As May was Mental Health Awareness Month, here at Madewell we couldn’t think of a better way to promote the month than some organized exercise as a crew! We know that our mental health is heavily impacted by our physical well-being, and the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 3.5-mile race was just what the doctor ordered! Last week, we had over 100 associates join across our organization to run or walk the course through Central Park in matching shirts designed by our very own Elie R., Anni M., Danielle Evangelista. We turned up the stakes a bit with some healthy team competitions, celebrated each other crossing the finish line, and had the opportunity to gather together in post-race celebrations. We look forward to continuing our focus on our mental and physical health year-round and already can’t wait for next year's race! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #JPMCC #Madewell #GlobalRunningDay

Building a community of sales professionals, leaders, & founders mastering the craft of sales and transforming the inner game // Host of The Rising Leader podcast // Formerly @ Outreach, Microsoft, & DocuSign
Our Catalyst offices are closed for #MentalHealthWeek as gratefully take space to reconnect w/ ourselves. Since mental health doesn't always come "easy", here's how I plan to get my my mind and energy right👇 This week, just my mom and I are spending time at our family cabin up in Maine (pic of our back deck below). My philosophy while we're here... Self Care > Everything else I've realized that if I'm not in a good state mentally, physically, or emotionally, usuallyyyyy my sales numbers and my team are going to reflect that. And if I'm a leader trying to help my team grow and develop, I need to be in integrity w/ it myself. Here's the 4 things I’m doing each day this week to reconnect: 1/ My morning practice is sacred to me, and if I do this usually the rest of the day takes care of itself. For me, that means a morning meditating, some breath work, a cold shower (at least the final 3 min🥴), a green juice, then a run after breakfast. 2/ I'll be putting pen to paper in my journal every single day this week. As opposed to my thoughts jumbling around my dome, let's get them onto a paper. It's crazy how much lighter I feel after this. 3/ We all have old friends we don't talk to as much as we used to, so this week I'm reaching out to 2 people per day. Text, voice memo, call... doesn't matter. I spoke w/ one of my best friends from growing up last week and I was on a high for about 3 days afterwards. Plus in the spirit of mental health, always good to see how your friends are holding up. 4/ And of course, the most important is to enjoy time w/ my mom. There's something about family and being w/ her that just makes things click. She's got some sage wisdom and just makes me feel loved. Grateful for her. Even if you're not on Mental Health week like Catalyst, I highly encourage doing something for yourself this week to ground. What you doing? I welcome all suggestions:) #sales #innergame #community #mentalhealth

Happy Tuesday, everyone!! 😁 The focus for today is self-advocacy. It emerges as a fundamental tool for navigating challenges and expressing our needs. It's a deliberate act of taking control of our narrative, where our voice becomes the driver of our story. 📝 Self-advocacy is going beyond asserting needs; it's about narrating our journey with a voice that is uniquely and unapologetically our own. 🗣❣ Consider self-advocacy as a compass guiding us through life's complexities. It involves crafting a path aligned with our values, dreams, and genuine self. This intentional shaping of our story is a purposeful journey. It involves a resolute declaration that our mental, emotional, and physical health are non-negotiable. 💞 Self-advocacy is the intentional prioritization of self-care, liberating ourselves from demands that compromise our overall well-being. In this journey, our voice isn't just a participant; it's the narrator of our stories!🌟 #TuesdayTip #EmployeeExperience #CandidateExperience #CareerGrowthTips #CareerHelp #JobSeekerSupport #SelfAdvocacy #SkilledTradeJobs #HVACJobs #PlumberJobs #ElectricianJobs

The age-old advice to "take a walk outside and breathe in the fresh air" isn't just common sense—it's backed by science. The sounds, smells, and textures of nature are invaluable for our mental health. That's why it's concerning to see in the Outdoor Industry Association’s 2024 Outdoor Participation Trends Report that youth outdoor time has been steadily declining since 2012. This translates to missed opportunities for healthier bodies, calmer minds, and a deeper connection to nature. At Outside, we’re committed to reversing this trend and fostering a lifelong love of the outdoors. We can treat this as an opportunity to encourage participants of all ages and backgrounds to get outside even just one more time. Every article we write, every video we produce, and every event we host aims to ignite that spark of connection and desire to get outside. Ultimately, we want to help build a world where every person experiences the joy, the wonder, and the mental health benefits of getting outside. To join our community and tap into our content to fuel all your adventures, you can subscribe to Outside+ here: https://lnkd.in/ggkHChiB #GetOutside

💔 I lost a former colleague a couple days ago to a long battle with mental illness, so this video that's been making the rounds hit me hard when I saw it last night. LMK below what you're doing to better support men and boys through mental health challenges. 💡Over a decade ago when I was attending Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency leadership training, I was trying to convince the other attendees (all men, save for one other woman) of the importance of getting to know those in your office personally. In the regulatory compliance industry, there was a pervasive need for everyone to appear "right" and not reveal any vulnerabilities. So many of these leaders-in-training were understandably all business. But I told them about the time I turned on a local news segment about mental health, and saw this guy I'd worked with every day, and grabbed a beer with on occasion, talk about his recent suicide attempt. It didn't feel good. His work suffered, but I'm not sure any of us knew the extent to which he was struggling. It would have felt much better to do the messy work of asking what was going on and encourage him to get help, and it probably would have made things go more smoothly at work for him as well. Some of them were moved by that story, some of them were still not convinced. I'm willing to bet all of them had been conditioned to see mental health as something separate and apart from physical health, something one should struggle through privately, and something that should stay out of the workplace. Sorry folks, it shows up at work anyway. Regardless of your industry or role, you're in the business of managing people, not just products and services. You certainly shouldn't try to diagnose your colleagues or solve problems for them, but you could definitely ask how things are going and remind them of your EAP or other resources should they ever want help. As we finish up mental health awareness month, now might be a good time for that reminder. Mental health is health. Asking your coworkers if they know a good therapist should be as simple and shameless as asking if they know a good allergist or pediatrician. How can you make that true in your workplace? https://lnkd.in/gHA_yPSz

On #WorldMentalHealthDay, both as a business and as individuals, we aim to make a difference by fostering a culture of open conversation and genuine support.🫴😊 That’s an ethos close to our hearts at the IWP Group. Asking our colleagues and loved ones, "Are you OK?" is a positive first move. But let's take it a step further. Instead of the automatic "Yes, I'm fine" response, which can be a knee-jerk reaction to “Are you OK?”, let's ask, "How are you feeling today?" This simple change in phrasing encourages a more meaningful response. It's a gentle way of going deeper and opening up conversations. 🗣️ So, as you enjoy your coffee or tea today, take a little extra time and give the gift of starting a conversation. We sincerely hope that everyone around you is genuinely happy and content, but just in case, let's ask that question and create time and space for those who may need it most. Let's make today the day we ask, "How are you feeling?" 💬❤️ #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealth #MentalWellness
