For the past few weeks, I've been reading the Mistborn series - where characters burn metals to unlock magical powers. Ari Morcos, PhD recommended and may have taken inspiration from this read since Datology basically enables their users to extract magical powers from raw data. AI can do incredible things but without good data, there is no magic. So proud to join the board of Datology.

A few interesting observations from attendees at #SaaStockUSA and #DubTechSummit #DTS24 over the past 3 weeks: 1. AI related solutions are everywhere. 2. AI as a field is wide and varied from tabular data to images to generative language application’s and more. Get comfortable with it. 3. AI will significantly disrupt every function and process across all industry segments, over the next 24 months. 4. Buyers have gone from investigating tools and possible use cases to AI execution. 5. The AI train has left the station, not embracing AI is not an option BUT make sure you have strong use cases where you can clearly present ROI impact to your internal budget owner. It’s no longer a “nice to have”.

Thank you Global Corporate Venturing for having me on your panel on why corporates are embracing GenAI at an unprecedented pace (https://lnkd.in/gvYQ-nFF). It was great discussing the broader market trends with an esteemed panel of experts which included Jeff Herbst, General Partner at GFT Ventures (formerly at NVIDIA), Gaurav Oberoi, CEO of Citi Ventures portfolio company Lexion (formerly at Allen Institute for AI (AI2)) and Marc d. Paradis, Head of data strategy at Northwell Holdings (formerly at Optum). We discussed why this wave of AI (unlike deep learning and computer vision) disproprtionately benefits corporates because of the sheer volume of unstructured data (tens to hundreds of petabytes) that financial and healthcare companies have access to which can be unlocked by large language models. We also discussed how startups can partner with corporates, why industry specific fine tuned or custom models may have an edge over generic large language models and how data will need to protected like code and IP going forward.
