In-house tech development is rarely talked about, but the reality is that large organisations spend hundreds of thousands (if not millions) building and deploying internal tech solutions to their own problems regularly. Farbod Shakouri founder & CEO of Phantom Technology understands this and especially understands the unique challenges this presents to those looking to build mixed reality solutions. Farbod joined Greg Mccallum on Founders Unplugged a while ago to talk about the amazing spatial AI assistant he is building and to share his thoughts on a range of topics, including but not limited to: ✅Farbod's company Phantom Technology (co-founded with Daniel Mosaid): An AI startup in Cambridge, UK developing next-generation human interface technologies like AI-powered wearables and smart glasses. ✅Cassie, their AI assistant: A spatial AI assistant embedded in smart glasses that can provide solutions based on real-time environment observations. ✅Partnership with DigiLens: Embedded Cassie in their upcoming Argo smart glasses to be released in early 2023. ✅Challenges of AR adoption: Need for practical use cases. Smart glasses should provide value from day one. ✅Use cases for Cassie: Everyday tasks like finding keys, industrial applications like assembly line instructions. ✅Future of AI-powered wearables: Moving processing and knowledge base locally to devices to address bandwidth and privacy issues. Brain-computer interfaces as the next step. ✅Phantom Technology's focus: Building AI components and software to improve utility of smart glasses and make embedded assistants like Cassie more useful. You can listen to or watch the full long-form, raw conversation with Farbod on Sunday at 8:30 AM BST on the platform of your choice here: https://lnkd.in/e8yADSUk hashtag #founder hashtag #founderstories hashtag #foundersjourney hashtag #ai hashtag #mixedreality

This week's Tech Talk with Cindy, This one was hard and shows one of the problems of working with AI, somehow Chat GPT-4 got it in its head that it was 2022. Yes, that is 4.0 and yes it sent out a "news update" predicting 2023. The prompt we use specifies "recent" and "relevant" and this is the first time that I've had this kind of issue. Of course, the Cindy personality module (also an LLM) had no idea that the date given to it by her "editor" IE: Chat GPT was wrong, so she perpetuated the error throughout the episode. As I keep it a rule not to edit for content I let it stand but it was hard as I really wanted to scrap the whole thing and start over. Especially when Cindy starts with a very ironic comment about how she has no patience for human error. Anyway, I think that this one is ironically the most funny but not in any intentional way on Cindy's part. Check it out. #AIfollies #ai #art #news #update #lytchgate #ttwc
