Being a TA professional on the job market really gives you some insight into how companies are thinking (or not) about their candidate experience. The first thing that amazes me is just never hearing back from companies in regard to your application. We ran a report with my team to ensure we had no active candidates on closed reqs. Throughout my job hunt, I’ve come to realize how out of touch hiring managers/teams — even average employees — are with Recruiting & HR. 2 years ago when I was job hunting, my sole priority was aligning my resume with ATS systems so that I’d be shortlisted. Now, it’s hoping that: - A job posting is legitimate - The hiring manager/team exist - Their applicant intake systems aren’t held together by tape How does one even optimize for these variables? People praise the power of “the network” but during a time when referrals have been rendered useless, it’s like unless you went to grad school with the CTO then you’re out of luck. There are countless job boards available for candidates to use during the job search, and I love that for yall! However, after finding a role that aligns with your expertise and interest, please do yourself a favor and head over to the company's careers site to ensure it's a true opening. While many job boards integrate with ATS systems, not all do. Some companies manually post their jobs on job boards and may forget to remove the posting once it's filled. (We're all human; it happens.) 📌Always verify directly with the company's careers site to avoid disappointment and wasted time. #recruiter #jobseekers #opentowork
